Root [ROM] ApeX 1.3.1 for Droid X - Running, running, as fast as it can (12/16/10)

Ok so I have it on low voltage 1.1 max and .4 min when screens on, .7 max when screens off and .7 min when charging with screen off at the highest priority. Anything else I should worry about? And don't worry I don't have it set to set on boot yet

Did you reinstall Bootstrapper, give it root access, and rebootstrap it? I'm not going to get into the specifics why it keeps rebooting into recovery, but basically there's a file the bootstrapper uses to load recovery at boot each time, but once a full boot completes, the file is deleted by the bootstrapper app.

If you don't have the app, it doesn't delete the file.

Swipe up on the screen to get your notification bar back. Swipe down on where the main dock is to get it back.

You can load up my adw settings, which does away with both of these features (but keeps swipe down on screen for notification bar) by doing the following:

In terminal

su
fabadw

return home, hit menu, adw prefs, scroll down and restart adw

Ok, gimme a sec to look over my script. It may not be correctly changing back the library files.

Fab, any update on the library files? Or why I'm not able to get the GB keyboard to work again? Thanks!

I love the Gingerbread theme, but since I'm new to Apex I'm now curious to try some of the other themes for Apex. I didnt deodex prior to installing Apex 1.3 since the rom deodexed the files for me, but I'm curious if its safe to install say NexTheme over 1.3 w/o issue? Has anyone tried this yet?

Thanks Fab - I did half of it....Started uninstalling apps and clearing data and cache, re-rooted, but didn't uninstall/reinstall Bootstrapper!

Cheers, and thanks for the quick response! More NOS funds sent your way...

One potential in-your-spare-time request Fab, my Droid X ran really, really well on your LV 1100 setting via your "overclock" script in 1.0.2.2 for me. Any chance you can write a patch for us who's phone ran well with it? In the mean time, is your current favorite OC app-based utility JRummy's?

Cheers

I looked over the script and it seems right. Can you try just using the GB KB update.zip from ROM manager?

The old script from 1.0.2.2 doesn't work anymore in .320+ based ROMs. There's a new script that some other ROMs are using that was made by JRummy. I'm going to take a look at that and see if I can incorporate it into ApeX, but no ETA :p

And yeah, I use Jrummy's app to undervolt my phone.

One little thing I noticed, which is really big for me because it used to bug the SHIT out of me, is that the "halo" around the numbers in Fancy Widgets is GONE!! Thank God!! IDK if this is from .340 or from ApeX but Im just gonna give the credit to Fab cause he does everything else so amazing!
Fab, did you add the 15% and the 5% charge symbols into ApeX or did the .340 update do that?
Great work as always Fab!

What Battery Icon mod is that I would love to use it?

Please work on this...I miss my ulv 1.1 and would rather donaate to you again since your customer service is top notch!

I hear you brother, I was used to it as well.

But jrummy's app is good stuff and is pretty smooth overall.

You may want to check it out while we await Fab's tweaks you know?

EDIT: His app was just updated again too! His app really does rock!

I have a question. I'm on 2.3.15. and I have 1.0.2 installed of Apex. Well, I checked to see if I can OTA, and it said I can. So my question is.. can I OTA and then just install 1.3 over top of that? I know sometimes OTAs don't work, but I don't see why this wouldn't. I'm just wondering! :D If not.... can I go back to stock 2.3.15 then update then root then install this? And if so, what's the easiest way to get back to stock 2.3.15?

Found a bug; it may be from .340, but it may also be from this ROM. I'm going to guess the latter though, because for the few days I had stock .340, I don't recall this happening. With Messaging, if somebody starts a conversation, their picture won't show up in that small window next to the text. If you initiate the conversation though, the picture appears as normal.

One small thing I hope can be tweaked is that when you dock the phone in the cradle, the screen doesn't automatically dim, so you always have to tap the small brightness button to do so. It's not incredibly important, but it is annoying to have to do that extra step.

And has anybody else noticed lower signal strength reported with this ROM? On stock, I was usually getting 3-4 bars, and now I'm getting more like 1-2 bars. Sometimes it likes to hang at one bar, and it's worrying me.

soo, I just installed Droid Overclock app by Jrummy, but it is telling me that my phone is no compatible for overclock module?

you can try to ota update but i doubt it will go through with apex on there,if you have a backup that you made after you rooted but before you fkashed anything just restore and ota then reroot and flash 1.3.0,if you dont have that backup just flash the 2.2 sbf and then ota ,i believe you can update zip but am not sure and have not tried it
heres the sbf if you need it
Droid X 2.2 Full SBF leaked - Download now
heres the link to z4root so you can reroot as well

Bigsully, my Mac was doing the same thing but I somehow changed that. I don't remember how but I think it was in the Mac settings. I think the default is to autoextract.
