We got the iPhone's #1 hidden gem: Game Dev Story

i can't seem to see the bar where it says the date and how much money you have, instead I see the bar where you see notifications, batt life time etc...

I bought this on a whim, loved the sprite work, but honestly thought I might play for an hour or so and get bored. Somehow I turned this game on and lost five hours. Insanely addictive, wholly absorbing, probably the most fun I've had with a game on my phone in a while.

Still, the game could use a little more depth and maybe more random occurrences, or maybe levels of difficulty. For what it is, however, it's pretty stellar. I just feel it could be so much more. Totally worth the $4 and change I spent.

If you're thinking about buying listen to what someone on the Market commented, "Clear your schedule." You may have to, if you can put your phone down long enough to do that, that is.

I forgot to mention, this game is NOT for everyone. You must have a love for strategic simulation games, and some interest in game development doesn't hurt. Also, if you got some love for old school sprite work, you are gonna love this game for the art alone.

I too, just bought this on a whim, based on the reviews on AF, and in the Market comments. I'll let you all know what I think after a few hours of playing it.

bad news: I didn't enjoy it. I can see the potential, and there is definitely an audience for it, just not me.

good news: although I played it for >15 minutes (at least 45 minutes), I attempted a refund and was pleased to see that it was honored. Not sure why, I thought the new market update only allowed that 15 trial window.

This looked intruiging so I went ahead and gave it a d/l. OMG this is really virtual crack. It's getting to be a problem for me and I've only had it for like 2 hours. Good thing my DX is plugged in ;)

I like this game a lot, but I'm already to the point where I'm sort of like.. ok, now what? Every game I make hits #1 in sales, gets hall of fame and I have gotten a few grand prizes. I've upgraded to new employees, but I can't seem to find a hardware engineer to make my platform. Other than that, idk what else to do.. :-/

I bought it and played it for about 3 hours the same day. It's really addicting but due to not being able to put it down, the only thing left for me to do is to level someone into a hardware engineer to make my own console. I'm halfway done with that already, and after that I don't think there is anything else.

reviews are true- this game just sucks you in..very deep, lots of events happening while in-game.

And yes I am not a tycoon-game fan...this is in fact my first ever SIM/tycoon game installed..

Couldn't agree more. I found myself easily killing 2 hours with this game.

It helps that I've been looking for a tycoon title for a bit, while the dev angle is appropriate. I was actually surprised at the depth, versus some of the other titles I've seen. It can of course be deeper, but I really can't complain at all. Easily the best game on my device, thus far.

where do you get the hardware engineer? i am currently in the 8 person office, with 4 hackers, a sounds person, a graphics person, producer, and writer. none can be changed to engineer, and i cant find one to hire. :(

oh this game is silly how addicting it is! i was up till 5AM playing,

If you had simply scrolled up...

"To get a hardware engineer you need to train an employee to level 5 in all careers then hardware engineer is unlocked."

Any trailer or demo? Because I usually have a rule about spending $5 on a game I am not sure I would like.
