Root issues with 2.2 youtube

When i use the 2.2 youtube app and sign into my account close it reopen it later it just force closes does any one know how to fix
 
More information would be nice? What ROM are you using, have you tried clearing cache and dalvik, are you overclocking? Does anything else force close?

Many things can cause this, also it being a ported app from Froyo to Eclair may even be at fault. I do not have a problem on Velocity or Punisher though.
 
Well i had on velocity 3 it forced closed then its built in on punisher and it dosent work yes ive cleard cache it happens when i open the app 1 time then i cant ever open it again because it force closes

I just tried to repeat your problem, I signed in again, closed the app a few times while watching videos and its having no problem with me, is it possible that you forgot to do a data reset?or dalvik? or cache? there are three different things you have to clear.

Also if you used apps2sd on velocity, you must format that partition to use punisher, as they wont work off each other properly. Hope I've helped some! I'll def keep trying!
 
But have you cleared anything else? Theres DATA, DALVIK, AND CACHE three different commands you have to do when installing a ROM, not to mention wiping ext partitions
 
Are you sure because all i do to flash a rom keep in mind im using clockwork i just wipe cache and then wipe dalvik cache

I flashed clockwork via rom manager then youtubes built in your rom and i dont like the other recovery because i think you have to install every thing as update.zips correct me if im wrong
 
By the way i flashed amon ra cleared data etc still dident help and now i cant flash clockwork back because rom manager just keeps force closing when i go to flash it
 
I am using the punisher ROM. I did factory data reset, wiped cache, and wiped dalvik cache. There's no parition on my card. I was using you tube just fine also until I signed in and BAM, fc, fc, fc... I can't even sign out now.


Edit... with root explorer, I went into /data/data and found the youtube folder and moved it to sdcard (just in case), rebooted to recovery and wiped cache and dalvik cache, rebooted and it worked fine now. I haven't tried to sign in again yet, but we'll see. That's the ONLY problem I had while using this awesome ROM though.
 
I have this same problem with YouTube FC's. I wiped Data, Cache, and Dalvik before flashing Punisher. I DID use Rom Manager though. So after reading this thread, I'm thinking it's something in Rom Manager that doesn't agree with Punisher. Therefore, I will try flashing the rom the old fashioned way, using command prompt. (assuming I can A: remember how, or B: find it online.)

The only way I've been able to find to stop the FC's after I sign in is to delete YouTube's data through Titanium Backup. Of course, then I have to sign in again when I want to use it. Which is very annoying seeing as how I use the widget.
 
Same issue here w/ youtube. .4 & Punisher so far both exhibit the issue, so hard to point fingers at roms, imo. Not sure where the problem lies tho. =(
