Root Velocity Backup Tool

Forgive me if I am an idiot. I successfully did a complete backup using Trident's tool before updating to v.4 velocity. Now that I am in v.4 what do I do? My browser does not have the backed up bookmarks, phone doesn't have backed up settings etc.

Do I have to manually move folders out of "Velocity_Backup" to correct directories to make this work? I was under the assumption that everything would be automatic including old themes that were backed up. I am probably way off haha. Any help would be appreciated, thank you in advance.

Theres a restore command i believe. Look at the velocity v0.4 thread. Under the commands section.

Try clearing cache? Maybe now that you backed up you have old and new duplicates of things in the cache and it's confusing the phone.

I just restored to a backup that I created shortly after flashing to v.4

It may have caused issues that I had manually went through astro to the velocity_backup folder and installed apps from there

O well everything is great now

I tried to use the Velocity Backup tool, putting the zip file in the root of my SD card as instructed. But when I then tried to run it using terminal / su / backup as the instructions say, all I got was a "backup not found" error. Am I supposed to extract files from the zip file and put them somewhere before I start?

Please understand that I wanted to use this tool to make the backup which can be restored after I install the Velocity ROM. What I had not understood was how to get the tool up and running. I got some help on the Ally IRC channel just now and have come to understand I need to install the tool as one would 'flash' a zip file by booting into Recovery, ( I use ClockworkMod Recovery) then selecting Install Zip from SD, and selecting the tool's zip file. Once that was done I could then follow the steps to run 'backup -c' within the Terminal Emulator, which created a complete backup for Velocity to use and restore all my stuff once it is installed.

Thanks.
