while on disk mode, the sd card actually gets unmounted from phone to get exclusive access by computer, this is good in the sense if both tries to access sd card there is chance to get it curropted, but if u select charge only option then sd card doesnt get unmounted and u can use it in phone while it charges

I am not saying never post any of ur box pics like you did, but you can anytime do some edit on the pic u r posting and strike off IMIE , product serial numbers etc while posting

thanks BTridevi, i only want to know where the color of DHD written on the box. You can(actually should) hide the rest part.
And one more question to all the proud owners, does the ofline navigation works in INDIA, spl delhi?, from what i hv heard locations service in htc is provided by tomtom, and according to my knowledge, tom tom navigation doesnot support india.
and how much time it takes to get gps lock?, i currently hv nokia 5800, it takes atleast 30 mins to get a lock, by the tym i almost reach the destinaion by asking route from auto walahs

Docomo SIM is not getting registered itself, all other SIM
“Phone finder" is currently disabled. For security reasons, go to your phone to enable this feature in Settings >> Location >> Phone finder

Delete htcsense account:
Login to https://www.htcsense.com/in# using the email id that u had used during registration. Then click on Account under account u will find “Click here to delete your HTC Sense account”. Click on that to delete.
On your hand set press and hold the power button u will get an option for power off, flight mode and restart select restart. So all ur temp data will be deleted so u will have to login again to goggle and HTC sense account on your hand set. No data or applications are lost.
Haha,,,exactly i ment to say, actually i m not comparing it with nokia, i wanted to compare it with iphone 3gs. My friend has one, n it takes only 30secs to get a lock while moving, and it standing on a red light it takes not more than 15 secs.
I use maps a lot, currently i use my ipod (with external gps), so i need a phone with good gps, and probably this is the only reason i am rating dhd over sgs.
So if you can help me, does the locations services of htc work in INDIA, i.e. do they have india maps for download n offline usage.

I would say its better than iphone 3gs, but with iphone 4...depends on you really...
I am finding gps working far better than SGS..locking faster and more accurate, htc locations have offline maps but will depend on region you are using the details of the maps...I believe in metro cities it should be very detailed

Screen guard is nice and working okay for me (I do not have any experience with any other screen guard). When DHD is in sleep mode, you can easily see the finger prints on its screen otherwise 50% of screen brightness is enough to show you nice screen of DHD.
The screen guard is probably a local one (brand name was copper ..) & the mechanic of the shop applied it on DHD in 5-10 minutes. He did use scissors to chop off 2-5% of original screen guard - he did his job nicely. He did say that screen guard which he has applied costs Rs.400 in market but I doubt it.
Why I paid 26.8k? In Bangalore, I heard of that 2-5 people got DHD in 26k from this shop only. And this shop guy had perfectly realised that he is the only one offering the cheapest DHD in town - I knew it & he revealed this secret on my face

dude with bill will give u warranty support for 1 year, and if u r willing to spend around 25k on a phone then getting a warranty is always good...
but if u wanna take ur chance and risk and save few bucks then go without bill
and if u ver particular about navigation then I would suggest goto a shop or ask any of ur frnd who have DHD and see it urself...before buying it and then regret if u didnt like that feature
Well i was on d same page that if i m spending 24k, 27 is not that bad. About navigation, i hv been to many dealers but no one hv dhd in hand, all are saying that they can bring it if i confirm that i m buying. Well thats not a big problem as i will buy map my india app avaliable for 800 rs for delhi, only thing i wanted to confirm was that gps hardware should work properly and fast not like sgs. gps is not as bad as SGS for sure bcoz I had changed my SGS for DHD
and u should not need to buy may my india for delhi also I am a bit certain bcoz as I can see the offline maps are preety good, after buying ur phone do download the india maps again its 200 MB around
I have checked out the box of my DHD. Surprisingly, color is not mentioned on the box. (quite strange actually).
IMO, go with bill and warranty please. Also, would certainly like to share with all of you that the manuals and the warranty card are Taiwan-based (no mention of India at all). So, the bill which your retailer has provided you is very very important in case something goes wrong with your DHD. IMO, without a second thought, please buy your DHD with bill and warranty.
My experience of buying DHD with retailer- Also, while buying your DHD, to avoid any surprises (shocks actually like for Docomo buyers), ask the retailer to open the box for you, get the battery checked, ask them to insert sim, check the 8GB card etc, test the earphones and battery charger etc. (I even tested bluetooth to listen to earphones & checked the GPS also
) I checked out all the things which I should before I left the shop. When I questioned them that wht the warranty card is printed in Taiwanese & all T&C are based in Taiwan - He said "Sir, you have my bill & hence your DHD is covered under Indian warranty". Wasn't convinced completely though his claims were sufficient enough to allow me to buy the handset from him.
Are maps supposed to be downloaded from AndroidMarket ? (I haven't touched the 'Android Market' app - little scared as I haven't used it before). And how many cities are covered under that map package ? (Are tier-1,tier-2 cities covered at least ?).
What needs to be done after launching Android Market to download Indian maps ? Do I need to search for 'Indian maps download free' similar to as I do a normal search on Google ?
Query: How do I enable internet on my DHD by connecting it to an internet-connected-laptop ? I suppose there are 2 ways, to connect the DHD to internet through a-laptop-running-Vista-cable-connected-to-broadband-internet, at least to make this happen.
