Ok, then lets compare to the EVO. Fairly similar specs w/ a FFC.
Thoughts on why people should choose this over dual core options or tried&true EVO (besides LTE), battery life?![]()
It could be said the Thunderbolt is an Evo in Verizon clothing. Very similar form, just a few internal and software tweaks.
A few key differences: new SenseUI, new CPU, LTE.
I think a lot of people are buying into HTC's hype on this phone and the rumored (all be it wrong) specs. Does that mean it's a crap device, no. Just not the God device some are hoping for. It's the Incredible all over again...
Alright, thanks for setting better expectations. Now, do you know if the either of the camera's will be upgraded over the EVO? I am guessing 8mp RC is not going to change just wondering if the FFC will be upgraded.
People would probably choose this over the dualies because of the UI. As for the Evo, not everyone wants Sprint and LTE will have faster speeds. I don't know how battery life will compare to the Evo.
I assume you are talking about the new "Sense"? If so, I am guessing the EVO will receive the updated sense w/ Gingerbread update? If not, are you telling us that either VZW or HTC has something new in the software that we are not aware of?
i hate to say it but it seems like htc is now the the Bose of phone manufacturers. inferior product, superior marketing. LG, Samsung, and Motorola have all announced upcoming Dual Core devices. then HTC comes along with an EVO with slightly updated processor and LTE and comes up with a really cool marketing scheme. i have to admit i love the phone after that marketing. when i first saw it i was excited. i took them for their word. i know im jumping the gun and we only have 2 days left to find out, but all signs are pointing to slightly updated EVO.
ill choose one of the dual core phones and put a custom gingerbread/sense 2.5 rom on it!
screw it, i'm waiting for a quad-core phone![]()
For those of you that are jumping on the Moto or LG bandwagon, I would have to guess we are talking about two different time frames for release. I would seriously doubt VZW would launch this HTC device at or near the same time as a device that is hardware wise far superior. I am guessing as other have stated, the Thunderbolt will be released early Feb and the Moto and LG devices not till June or later.
your giving vzw alot more credit for having good logic than they deserve! look at their track record for weird release dates and odd phone selections.

I agree that hardware is definitely NOT HTC's forte'... don't much care for the creakiness of my Incredible's plastic back. But what they lack in hardware, they make up for in performance and customization. If the Thunderbolt is as rootable and customizable as the OG. Motor Droid - like my Incredible is - then in my opinion HTC will trump and thump everyone else.

All you have to do is root your phone and you can put the HTC software on it.
Would everyone be complaining if it had dual core and no LTE?
He has superpowersNo one knows, but know this.....he was pretty good at the Incredible "rumors".
I can vouch for that. I doubted his info and he was correct about the Inc.
Most of you folks here appear to be geeks like me. If you are happy with your current device, hold on to it and wait for a dual core. If Tegra 2 or if we assume a Quallcom or TI chip with similar performance- you will be veddy' veddy' happy
Going from my Inc's Snapdragon to the gTablets's Tegra 2 is like VHS to DVD in level of improvement.
