bummed out phone change

Alltel in my area chained to element mobile, not Verizon. They have no hero's so my phone is forcefully being changed to the LG Axis, which I have no info on. I'd like to root but its new. So goodbye hero forums as of this weekend

Got my "upgrade" today. Root is easy enough, took about 10 minutes via rageagainstthecage. The phone is definitely faster than the hero, but seems to be crap right out of the box, both of the LGs I received constantly flash and back up a ways, and android home crashes constantly (once before I had even logged in the first time). I am in the call back queue with Element because I let them know how much I was disappointed in this move, and they will be getting an earful from me. Bad enough we dumped all this money on phones and accessories, only to find out we cant use them a couple months later, now we are handed an inferior product and told to be happy?
