Root [ROM] Project Elite v4 Built from source frg83D w/ Gingerbread Parts

I don't know if it's just you, but that certainly hasn't been my experience (and I've been running it since well before it's December 22nd release). I also haven't seen any other complaints about this from others, either here, or at DF or the Project Elite forum.

I habitually use Cache Cleaner to clear cache, and every few days, I use Titanium Backup to clear unneeded items from Dalvik Cache. I also don't use compcache on any ROM (I never even tried it on PE), as I've experienced extreme slowdown and lag on every ROM I've used it on.
Excellent, I guess I'll give it another shot. Like my signature states, I ran 3.0 forever, currently running BB 0.6.1 which is running pretty good, but I really liked the Elite ROMs.

Here I go downloading again. :)

Been running this ROM for about a week and I have to say this is the best ROM my phone has seen. And this was coming from Charity which for me was flawless. 1500+ quadrants with the best battery life out there. Great Work.

Love the rom ... only problem is with titanium backup being installed as system app ... cannot use my license.

That's very odd -- I've never had a problem with it recognizing my license.

But if it just won't, you can go into Settings>Elite Settings>General>System Applications and tap Titanium Backup and it will uninstall it for you. Then you can install TiBu from the Market, if you wish.

I downloaded this rom last month when v4 was released and it was very fast and battery life was awesome but recently battery life has been dismal. Haven't changed anything so don't know what's causing battery life to tank like that. Do I have to delete the cache's on other apps? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Would have to go back to BBv0.6.1 but Love the Miui music player and music controls on lockscreen.

There must have been something going on with the market as when I installed the free version via market, it installed and my license worked ok.

Thank you to everyone again. And I hope this release of p.e is better then the last. I wanted to get this out because it has a few mods people have asked for (power widget and some nice other additions such as cytown with led enhancements) Galaxy S is beign worked on so please I will get it when the time is right. Also I'd like everyone to know mojo_droid who builds the website is now also helping out with the dev of p.e. Also GLD (GirLuvsDroid) helps and provides tremendous support. Thanks again!

just downloaded v4.1 and galaxy s theme 4.1 after wiping data and cache.....running rom with launcherpro...but noticed no miui music player....what happened to the miui player? Loved it cause it had equalizer with lyrics while playing song. can't find it on the market anywhere...any idea why it was removed and can it be installed in the future?

If you don't mind having a "Blacked Out" themed version, you can get it here: Miui Music... Blacked Out... Screenshots... - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum.

Nevermind -- you need to wait just a bit while he's working on the most up-to-date version. I believe he posts the stock version there, as well.

UPDATE: I just did a quick search and found the apk available for download here: http://androidspin.com/2010/12/14/miui-music-app-available-in-a-simple-apk-file/. It looks like it's signed, so you can just put it on your SD card and install it like any other apk.

I have a problem with ringtones. My imported tones aren't working properly. Stock ones are fine, but custom ones there is no delay between rings and they sometimes cutoff or stutter mid-ring. Am I missing a setting or something?

Add blocker does not seem to be working for some of my games. Worked fine under 4.0. I did perform reformats & data/cache wiping prior to loading the new ROM. Everything else seems fine so far - still playing :)

Update: Tried to do a *228 and the phone digits are hidden so you can't press the 2 key to reprogram the roaming.

Update 2: Use the keypad 2 key to do the programing as a work around.

Almost all my ringtones are custom and I haven't seen this issue.

Actngrezy used a new blockads script this time that was supposed to block more ads. A number of people have posted this issue, though, so he says he will post a patch shortly, when he gets home.

UPDATE: Blockads script now posted here: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/ac...te-4-1-source-frg83d-w-gingerbread-parts.html.

Not sure if this is a PE thing or a gingerbread change....

In the call log, there is no longer a button to directly call a number from your call log. There used to be a little green phone next to each entry in the call log....no I either have to tap on the avatar and choose the phone or click on the entry, view the contact and dial. I'm not liking that as most of my calling is actually returning calls and re-dialing numbers all day.

Any way to get the old way back?

Another question (sorry just installed last night and this is my first custom rom....been running rooted stock for a while). I like the haptic feedback on the soft keys on my droid, but I don't like how it vibrates every time I dial or end a call. Is there an adjustment for this? It seems like I can either have both or neither.

Open the phone, tap menu and go to Preferences. You'll find places under the headings "Phone" and "Contacts" to "Show dial button" and you can uncheck "Enable haptic feedback." So long as haptic feedback in enabled in Settings>Sound settings, you'll still have it for your soft keys.

So I only had a few aps that had ads. I downloaded and installed the ads patch through ROM manager and now all of my apps have ads.

Is anyone having LED issues with this release?

I get sporadic LED blinks working, nothing consistent. Currently I have 4 colors set up

Red- missed calls
Green- Missed TXT
Blue - K9Mail account
Yellow- K9mail account 2

These have all worked in the past but now only the green and red work occasionaly. Any ideas? I have gone in and set all the settings on notifications correctly

All of my LEDs -- I have orange for missed calls, blue for texts, green for Gmail and fuscia for K-9 mail -- are working as they should.
