Omg look what it runs!!!!!

haha! i usually dont worry too much about having problems with things. i bout my nexus s and when everyone was having all these problems, i tried to replicate them but couldnt. so i say just dont worry about it, and if something goes wrong, exchange the phone for a working one.

Good theory :) that's how I live

This is so funny, this buzz is on all the forums, people in a panic because all the new hardware coming out and everyones phones are going to be dated. Its all true, but that just means phones are getting cooler, technology is getting better, and there will be something better to buy. I am all about bleeding edge, love tech and love new tech, embrace this, it is awesome. In a couple of months all our phones are yesterdays news, I can't wait to buy something new.

In all fairness, when I was assembling my computer, I wanted to make damn sure I could play any game I wanted to and get the absolute most bang for my buck.

The work paid off thought :D

Ehhhh.. I think people who are panicing over their phone being obsolete.

New tech is nice.. but, if something has served me faithfully.. I usually have to look for a reason to retire it.

My brothers Q6600 is about 3 years old.

The funny part is for a computer thats an antique..

But, it still has a lot of life left on it since games are just not utilizing more than 2 cores..

It pays to be aware of what and when your buying it along with what the market is doing and what your needs are.

If you believe that this phone or any phone in the world can play Crysis, you are an idiot.

That is all.

First off we don't know if it can or can't cuz no one has the phone but your statement is idiotic because there will come a phone if not this one that will.

I can guarantee that this phone or any phone in the near future will be able to play crysis, theres no way any of these phones would be able to even run a PS2 emulator and its games, much less what most people consider the most demanding PC game around, and did I say that there wont EVER be a phone that cant play it? No so re read my post, I said at the MOMENT, like I said show me what phone can play crysis, im still waiting.

What does crysis need to work?

What does crysis need to work?

2 gigs of ram, 2.2 ghz processor, NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS or higher, and lets not even get into Direct X or anything like that that these games need to run, an Xbox360 wouldn't even be able to run this game without some sacrifice.

And what are the specs of the atrix? Like I showed its not that far off I didn't even get into the nvidia engine or direct x the phone has

I do understand but you can't make the statement you made when you look at the phone and see how close it is

Look im not gonna be a smart ass and act like I know it all or be rude cause thats not the way I am, but all im saying is that I doubt any phone has everything needed to run crysis and most games released today for PC, with that being said the atrix has some very good insides and I wouldn't be surprised if some older games are ported and run very well, anyway sorry if I was rude.

Well that's better. Your first post was a bit rude with the idiot comment

This phone is not and will not be able to play crysis.

First: It has a 1 ghz dual core processor.

What your not taking into account is the processor at 2.8 ghz listed to play crysis is more powerful by itself as a single core than this phone is as a dual core.

The processor listed is going to perform more instructions per clock, and have a more solid architecture for playing games.

Second:

The MINIMUM specs listed are what you are going by.

The MINIMUM specs are going to yeild about 8 FPS on that game.

An nvidia 8800 is an antique in the graphics card world.. but, it still is an impressive card to this day.

nvidia8800ultragraphicscard.jpg

Not the best for viewing the size of the card.

But, the size of the card required to run crysis hasn't gone done in size yet.

I can get 60 FPS with these babies.

Now one of those gives me about 35 fps average.

I don't care what reviews you read or what specs they give.. real world in game for this card is usually about 35. two is about 70.

I stay in the 60-70 range pretty well on max graphics.

To further stress my point I actually own the 8800 as well (or my brother let me borrow it until I upgraded).

and the size difference is amazing.

That phone is not playing crysis any time soon :/ I assure you of this.

I am not saying kevin was right to be rude.. but, as a serious nerd.. I understand where is coming from.

PC gamers (myself included) are elitist. We tend to look down on those who are totally unaware or so trusting.

When I say I live in the tech world I mean it. That pc I showed you can be clocked up to 4 ghz in all 4 cores.

from 3.2 quad core to 4ghz quad core.

Not only does it go that high, I have stability tested it. Its solid as a rock. No worries about draining the life on the components, no worries about excess heat or corrupted data.

I do a good bit of research on things before I dive in.

SO I can tell you, that you won't see crysis much less 31 fps on crysis on a phone for a long time.

What about AA? Can you put it full and keep 60ps?

Yep. 50-60 FPS usually with AA.

6870's are the "high end" of their generation.. but, they scale nearly perfectly.

If you get 30FPS with one.. with 2 you usually get 58 or 60.

I love my gpu's.

First off the phone has two 1ghz processors making it 2ghz. I didn't say it would just that its nit that far off

You are wrong.

It is very far off.

Look, you disagree with me on quite a few things regularly.. I respect that I am not always right and there is a lot of speculation on a lot of what has been discussed.

But, we are moving away from speculation and into my territory.

I'm an over clocker, I'm a computer science major and I have a fascination with technology that goes past just reading specs.

a dual core 1 ghz processor =/= a 2 ghz processor.

A 1 ghz processor in a phone =/= a 1 ghz processor in a computer for certain.

Clock speed is not the only way to determine power in a device. Odds are the dual core 1 ghz phone is going to perform one instruction per clock cycle.

Odds are the 2.8 ghz processor examined performs at MINIMUM 2 instructions per cycle.

So. in the time the dual core performs 2,000 cycles it will have performed 2000 instructions. the desktop will have performed 2,800 cycles but, 5,600 instructions.

The phone is nowher near the desktop.

thats also assuming the processor listed doesn't perform 4 instructions per cycle!

On top of that now days processors are needed.. but, graphics cards are where the majority of the burden is in these video games.

You don't have to believe me.. but, it is a fact that phone is no where near the desktop listed.

If you don't believe me, then do some research on your own and figure it out for yourself.

Also.. let me say this again the minimum spec is what your looking at.. You will get a whopping 5 FPS with that set up.

I didn't say I was right. The only thing I was saying is that it's possible that sooner rather than later a phone will play these games. His calling people idiots for thinking that was nit right. All I'm saying is nvidia is making a big push and it wouldn't surprise me if the PlayStation phone has some close specs

Your wrong about sooner :/

They might one day remake something that people will say is "close enough" sooner than later.

That doesn't mean it will be anything near the real game in terms of demand.

From the real games i've seen on this phone.. its going to be on the level of a playstation or maybe somewhere between ps1 and ps2.

Crysis is still king in many ways.

And nvidia is making a push because they are alittle worried about ATI at the moment..

As one comment said.

"TEGRA 2 BETTER BE GOOD, I'M TIRED OF MY INTEL STOCK DROPPING"

We will see I bet the tech is already there just don't wanna bring it to market yet
