I just checked the Verizon website and they are still listing the DJ01 as the most recent update for the Fascinate. I checked my phone this morning and.....no update.
 
I think each rep gives you different answers. Another one said they are going straight to Gingerbread soon. So until it pops up we wont know.

He maybe just got that first update that Verizon rolled out for the Fascinate that did NOTHING about the GPS.

I have a question though. Mine has been trying to do an update for about two weeks now. Every time I restart my phone VZ tries to force that update on my. I have one of those Fascinates that has a perfectly working GPS, and it's really setup the way I want it. (Although I'm getting some "kernel fever" to try something new!) Regardless, the OTA update won't work. I tried to let it a few times just for fun. And I have to use the task manager to actually close the update app or it will keep reminding me at a maximum of 24 hr intervals. Really annoying. What is this update? His build number is DI01. Mine says DH12, but I'm running a custom kernel. Should I get this update and then re-root and re-setup everything?

The wife can upgrade today (has a HTC Eris....POFS!) and I'm looking at getting her the Fascinate. If it gets 2.2, it's pretty much sealed. If not, looking like Droid X. Do you guys agree?
 
When I open my innopath thing to check for an update, the "please wait..." notice blinks. It used to not do this. Is this normal? It used to just get longer with the dots. Now it blinks? What gives?
 
Just for the record, as much as I'm upset about this phone not receiving an update yet, I feel the need to reiterate the fact that it's a fantastic phone. Froyo or not. I've used several phones and I don't think any other phone comes close to matching this phone. The screen is great. It's fluid. Responsive. Has pretty good battery life.

Yes, it's missing a few features. Features we know we'll be getting despite the fact that patience isn't a virtue many of us have (myself included). It's unfortunate that we have to wait as long as we do for fixes for our phone via OTA (assuming you're not willing to root). But in the end, I have to say I can't be happier to have this phone for the next 1.5-2 years. This phone is everything I've always hoped an Android phone would be flaws and all.
