Root Finally Rooted today!

After months of reading this forum and waiting for any form of update I decided to root my fascinate. Just wanted to say thanks to an awesome group with tons of threads. I was able to Root, install a DJ05 radio, DJ05 clean 0.9 and 1129 novoodoo kernel. I also added a boot animation and custom boot and shutdown sounds. Of course I used Titanium backup and CW before as I have seen many times on this forum. My phone is running great! All with no issues because of what I have read here.
 
I'm trying to figure out if I can create a startup sound from any sound file or if there is a size limit. Thinking about making the A-team theme song my start up...guess I'm kind of a geek like that...

Welcome to the root club. :) sounds like you really did your research and were patient in your approach and i commend you for that....a lot of times when some of us rush into it, it can lead to some rough situations....but it sounds like you did it the right way
 
I actually used that thread earlier and added the android/apple image and "droid" sound. I am getting ready to install my own sound for a unique startup. That thread is a flawless step by step. As most of the ones I have found here are. Thanks
 
I guess at this point my biggest question would be does adding themes affect apps? Does adding a theme change boot animations and sounds or would these stay the same?
 
I finally rooted a few days ago after I couldn't get the new update and also after reading the devs are closer and closer to 2.2. Well actually I've been rooted for a while I was just hesitant to go all the way. Now I'm running dl09 superclean 0.4 and OTB test6 sv 1200 and my god its like I have a brand new phone! The information I got here was invaluable INVALUABLE. I WILL be donating and I look forward to finally having froyo or maybe even gingerbread on my device. Keep up the good work fellas :D

Yes Jan 2011 is turning into a nice month for the old SF. In its current state [and lets admit it changes daily] the alpha Kaosinate Froyo ROM is borderline daily driver for some. If you can live without wifi, gps, bt and camera. The astonishing rate of fixing PK does probably means its a week or two from final which really is just silly-fast. Everyday he adds something to the fixed list
 
Yes the pull to flash the Kaos rom is very strong. Since we are still hours away from football and I have idle time on my hands I have a feeling I may cave. I can live without the things he has listed on the do not work list the only thing that makes me hesitate is the 'just about all the rest of the hardware' part. I also read whee you were having problems rotating the screen and nitsuj17 having problems flashing back to 2.1. My fascinate has been working so beautifully for the last few days I'm just leery.

Well speaking as an outsider who hasnt tried it yet the screen does now rotator [big plus] and now on v2 recovery works well so flashing back to 2.1 if needed should be able to take place without the full odin again, I think.
Otherwise just give it another couple days. Many aren't working Monday for MLK, that might be my personal I have a dream day when I finally try the froyoz, even if BT isnt working yet

Go luck :) Actually no luck needed I have not heard of any soft bricking putting it on, getting it off was a tad of an adventure with v0 and v1, maybe not so much now

yeah as good as the improvements are...i still think if you arent comfortable with pushing things in adb in recovery...id still avoid it

sometimes when things happen, thats an important tool to have
