Root Think I bricked my phone!

So i rooted my phone via unrevoked.com. all was going well. i wanted to start fresh so decided to unroot (stupid idea) and root again. it all went wrong while unrooting..

Did some research and found a video of a guy unrooting his Droid Incredible (Link - How to: Root and Unroot the Droid Incredible - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog ) Followed EVERY STEP the video said. Watch the video many times before hand. when it got to the point where you reboot your phone after going into the white screen to update (sorry im a n00b at this, which is why i messed up :( ) and it wouldn't start. It's a black screen, and when i try to turn it on it just vibrates but no other response..

More research- Found a story about a guy who was doing the same thing (downgrading from 2.2 to 2.1 to unroot) and his phone thought it died when it was rebooting. Couldn't charge because (idk?) and he was stuck at the same place. He had a little to drink, took some electrical wire, and somehow fixed it? But didn't tell how.

Can someone help me with a file or video or link or SOMETHING!? Please?!

Great..more problems. First off my phone cannot make or receive calls, or texts. It says it's activated on the website but when i make a call its the lady saying 'were sorry we are not able to complete your call'...so its not working. Remind me never to root an android again. This is so much harder then jailbreaking.... But does anyone have a solution to the call/text problem? I unrooted and it's back to normal, factory reset, done everything I can think except contact verizon..I'm kind of scared to do that..HELP PLEASE

If you followed my site you are completely back to stock except for an unlocked bootloader. No need to be afraid to call big red.

I followed the steps on your site, and now im 2.2 unrooted (i got it with the first step) but its not letting me make calls and texts and such. Do you have a way to fix that?
 
You flashed stock HTC software, I think the issue lies elsewhere. Though might try dooing the RUU.exe if you used the PB31IMG or vice versa.(PB31IMG instead of the RUU.exe) Maybe just a simple battery pull, then go back into Hboot and do a factory reset.

Just a thought.

I have had the towers near me go out often lately and have been left without service. And I live in a major metropolitan area. I mean we get the first roll out of LTE and 3g at times is still a struggle.
 
Can't be a tower, used my brothers cell to try calling mine and that worked, also I've tried battery pull and factory reset and everything.. I'll try doing the PB31IMG and see what happens, if not I'll try RUU.exe again.

Jokes at your expense aside, move everything on your sd card over to you PC and format it to fat32.

Download one of those radios. I would start with the 2.05. Don't open the zip or unzip it. I assume you ran the RUU.exe that means you are on Windows, your a newb so I will assume your file extensions are set to hidden so just rename the zip to "PB31IMG". Put on the root of the SD card(Means not in any folders).

Then boot itnto hboot. Power off the device and power it back up while holding the power and vol minus buttons at the same time. If all went correctly hboot will ask if you want to update the radio. Select yes by pressing the power button. When done it will ask if you want to reboot. Select yes, then see if your issue is resolved.
 
Okay I started with the download..what do the different versions of the radio do? Like what is the difference between 2.05 and 2.15?
 
The radio controls just about everything. This is being done as just a test. If it works I would try and flash the 2.15 version.
 
The test did not work, I put the unopened zip in the root of my SD card (from a slot in my computer) and then into my phone, but it did not ask if i wanted to update.
 
Okay, I got to update 2.15, but it did not fix my problem..to flash it do i need to to anything extra then just update it?

Nope. Something else is wrong here then. No way to say this nicely but did you pay the bill? If so get VZW on the horn. This seems more then a device issue. Just my .02
 
Yes everyone's phone in my family is working fine except for me. Well I have no idea what could be happening. It all started when I tried downgrading to unroot like I said earlier, and then it all went black. Did what you said on doug piston, did both things and the first worked, and now it works fine except for the fact it can't do anything over 3g or 2g, but can over wifi. I downloaded a rom while it was rooted, but didnt flash it..

Heres a wild guess. What if I root it again? Do you think that would change anything?
 
did you mess with your prl?

i thought 228 reset it but i'm not with vzw so i have no idea.
sounds like you need to talk to verizon.

not being able to make calls really isn't affected by rooting, roms and such.

Did you try both options when dialing *228? the one option updates your towers, the other activates your phone. I'd try both if you haven't.
