Root Before I root again...

I Have not changed anything other than flashing dl09 and doing the cwm. I guess it is the stock kernel.

Ok so my only idea I have left is you could load clockwork then flash a different kernel and see if bt works then.

We are on same page now right? You can have bluetooth before clockwork. But after clockwork installs then bluetooth doesnt work? Or am I in left field?

You are correct, BT is fine before cw. I have not flashed the kernel by itself yet. I assume it is using odin and same basic instructions as flashing a rom?

No and no. you don't normally flash a rom or a kernel through odin. The reason that the dl09 was pushed through odin was to make it easier for ppl that had not flashed before, it was setup to do dl09, rom, and kernel all at one time and be able to root. The way that roms and kernels are usually done is by flashing them in clockwork.

Alright, understood.

Let me do some reading on the "one stop shopping for SF kernels" thread... recommendations for a compatible kernel for DL09?

To be honest, it was doing fine prior to all this in regards to speed and function, I just wanted an option to be able to go back to a set point in time where it was all setup, configured, and ready to roll (unrooted) -incase it blew up for some reason- this part has been dashed by today's events... so hell... I would like a fully functional droid - with as little vzw bloat as possible.

I had already wiped everything a couple of times, then reinstalled, reconfigured, and rebuilt. Then flashed the DL09 - which of course wiped all my settings, accounts, apps and root - so I started over again... that is why I wanted a jumping off place where I could roll back to if needed - but I use BT a ton and as it is right now... I might as well have an LG vx450 in my hands...

edit: Rereading that made it sound like I am whining about the situation, believe me - I am not. I have sorta enjoyed the events of today in a morbid - wish I was on the outside looking in - kinda way. :D

Here is what I have decided to do:

As I type this I am flashing via Odin3 back to DI01, from there I am going to let the OTA DL09 come down and check to ensure BT is still working.

Using Odin3 I will apply the CWM and check for BT operation. If good, I will restore from backup and check BT again.

-If I still get failures on BT, I will just flash the DL09 again, and reset everything up manually again.

Thanks for all the advise and CHEERfull messages!

Success! Took a bit of back and forth using CWMRecovery_DJ05_DL09.tar.md5 but I was able to restore using just the data restore from my previous backup.

Here are some screenshots showing that BT is working now!! Thanks to all you guys for the help! Now on to de-bloating, de-binging, and beyond! (yes I have a current backup) :D

yes...It is already gone... just part of the noob process I guess.

Thanks again Gents

hey we've all been there ;)
Yeah I bought my SF in store on launch day and one of the girls there put it on for me, without even asking. She was like here you need this. It used to be like recommended during employee training or something absurd. It took me a week or two before I learned enough to know that it was best to uninstall it. Man I've come a long way in 4 months. Too bad verizon hasnt, I think they still engage in this practice of not only recommending it but insisting you/they put it on for you

when i got my droid x...atk was one of the first apps i put on there...as some "android websites" always had it in the top 5 apps to d/l....i quickly learned the reality of task killers and such...but i think it d be rare that someone never experimented with a task killer when they first got into android...and im sure some swear by them (especially those who dont frequent sites/know any better)
