Agreed...i believe on supporting devs and once we get a semi finished product from pk im more than happy to donate....he's been a real assett to the fascinate community

Just to clarify we do have 3G and we can boot into CWM right now. As far as nandroids I havent tried that in 2.2 yet. Wifi and BT sound like they are just around the corner too. The sense I got from irc was camera was low on the priority list and/or might be done by jt. Believe me no one used BT more than me but this is pretty darn nice as is.

Yup, having not come from an Eris I honestly had never heard of PK a month ago. But clearly he has lived up to all the hype

I'd definitely go with PK's. imnuts were made on 1/15 whereas the latest PK build is more recent 1/16. Im slightly unimpressed with the battery life, I dont know if the kernel is bone stock volts or not. So once imnuts revises his kernels again I will be itching to get back on some -100mv luvin.

Im still gtg on my browser and what a joy to have wifi again. Just minutes after this was released PK also fixed the ring issue but thats not coming till v4 rom, seems like PK is focused on BT and GPS for v4 rom. The mere addition of the wifi makes this a nice step forward. Definitely getting close.
I think camera is low on the priority list which is fine. Also JIT seems not coming in the next wave but so be it.

FWIW, I flashed this rom and kernel right over previous in Kaosinate without data wipe and its all gtg.
 
i tried to flash v3 over my jt0.9 and also flashed the froyo kernel, it finished the flash but then just sat there on the last frame of my boot ani...did a restore back to my prior setup, gonna try to do a full data wipe prior to the install this time and maybe wait between reboots before flashing the new kernel, see if there is any difference.

Yes if you are still on 2.1 you musy wipe data and cache and dalvik then install rom, kernel and gapps. Once on Kaosinate you dont have to wipe data and apparently you cant even if you wanted to thats the one thing broke in Kaosinate still. Restores work [so I was told by daboss] and flashing works [obviously confirmed this myself] but not data wipes.
 
and just to confirm, i disable voodoo lagfix prior to flashing the new rom, right? i did this prior to doing anything else, just making sure that it was the correct move.

Nope. Just be on voodoo [enabled] have all the files on your sdcard, the rom, kernel and gapps. Boot into red cwm, make a nandroid if you dont have a current one [also make sure you TiBu anything you'll want/need] then wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik, install rom, kernel and gapps reboot and enjoy
 
am i supposed to see a 10 minute samsung screen on initial boot after flash? haven't seen it sit for this long since i originally went to voodoo...
 
kaoscinate v3 was all i flashed that time...i restored, re-enabled voodoo and currently re-wiping and reflashing kv3, kv5 kernel, and gapps, in that order
 
I just can't understand what I'm doing wrong. My browser just keeps crashing. I don't even have to be playing flash videos its just random. I installed the right gapps so I don't understand. Am I not flashing in the right order? I didn't wipe dalvik could that be the problem? Its killing me I'm so close to getting what I bought this phone for and I can't get it to work. Btw anyone using this rom get swype to work? I can install it but it still defaults to the android keyboard.
 
apps like RM should be working, should they not?

nvm, had to restore to 2.1 and wipe data again, then re-install everything and things are now working properly.

Yes wipe dalvik cache that alone might help, me are advised to do that on install. I get no browser crashes and Im even using the stock browser. I loaded the swype apk and it works for me. The keyboard will default to android keyboard till you change it by long pressing in somewhere where you type and manually change it

Yeah this might help lasportsfan too as its kinda mandated that we wipe dalvik upon install. Mind you when I went from v3 rom test to v3 rom official I didnt wipe because I was told a] dont need to and b] cannot in current state of recovery not totally working
 
well we might need a new thread now cause jt is uploading a vanilla froyo tonight apparently

apparently and it seems jt's has a few more things working than PK, jt said only things not working are bt, mms and camera...and JIT and maybe the sdcard :p so they are about on par with each other
 
and if GPS is working, that'd be very nice:D, though i do like how PKs has OTA updates through RM...really wish JTs did as well, or do you think he'll go with being able to update OTA?
