I just got the update!

just push stock recovery in odin...and then try it

but again...really the dl09 files we have now are the *exact* same as the ota...so i dont see why you wouldnt want to use that...i mean if you have cwr, then clearly your ok with odin :)
The problem is I get a "Failed" when I put dl09 through odin and I don't know why. I tried everything i could but no luck:(

You still running DJ05 or have you installed DL09? Not sure if there is any benefit to it, I'm currently on DJ05 Voodoo 5.

Any one seen some better response or performance with DL09?

Re: IP_PREVIOUS_UPDATE_FAILED

I had this same issue. Returning the phone to 'stock' (application-wise) solved it :).

I think, as others have mentioned, the updates check for installed .apk's (some of which are updated), so if you renamed or deleted any of the stock bloatware you need to put things back in place.

I tried going through apk's from stock one-by-one but had no luck. Instead, I used Odin to flash the phone with a stock DI01 image (after using Titanium Backup, among other things, to make restoration easier). The update worked on the first try after this, and an hour or so later I'm running DL09 with my previous settings restored. A pain in the arse, for sure, but at least it's over :).

Did this tonight in roughly a half hour and it worked without issue.
Went from broken DI01 since the IP error and media sync manager issues to the image linked there, then to the DL09 image from TalkAndroid. Fired right up.. reloaded everything.. and it's good.

Now... what to do with this replacement Fascinate VZ sent me...
Shame they probably won't let me keep it.

I haven't received the update I'm on DJ05 with Voodoo, do i have to disable voodoo in order for it to get it?

I had previously removed the bloatware, but i've loaded everything back. Weird that mine still doesn't show up.

Do you have clockwork? You will not get it with clockwork installed

you have to ditch clockwork recovery and voodoo....even if you pulled the update, you d brick

but really since you have cwr..just flash a dl09 rom and radio if you want it...but fwiw your better off on dj05...especially if you dont have the phone mounting as cd drive issue

Well i think i may just do the upgrade to dl09, if worse come to worse and its not what i expected i think i should be able to easily "downgrade", right?

As for the CD they just posted this earlier, not sure if this is what you are referring to.

I was happy with DJ05, but for some reason the last two days i started to get an "unable to scan for networks" with my Wifi (so it no longer works), so i figured might as well use the time to upgrade to dl09.

I don't use wifi enough with mine to help ya out with that 1. Hopefully it'll work out for ya.

ON dj05 my wifi stopped working, so I went back with 01, then when 09 came out I jumped on it. I cant see the point in messing with 05. From what I understand 05 is a broken update. Go with stock 09 n you will be fine.

dj05 is more reliable than dl09 imo..most dont have the sdcard mounting issue with dj05...where it seems like many do on dl09

dl09 essentially fixes nothing from dj05

Just did the update. I'v only read parts of this thread. Sorry if I'm repeating.

1) GPS is definitely locking faster
2) Don't understand the new diamond shaped icon with the radio waves emanating from right side of it. Any explanations.
3) Laptop did not recognize phone, except as a CDROM drive. I tried to run the program on the "CDROM". Just told me it was already running. ?? Reluctantly downloaded VZ bloatware Media Manager. No result. What did work was plugging in the USB while phone was off. Phone does recognized drive the old way when it boots up. What do I have to do to get it to recognize the phone without the hassle of turn off/turn on. thanks.

i dont think Verizon or Samsung ever officially released the DJ05 version. If
it was never released I dont think V or S thought very much of it.
I know when I tried DJ05 a bunch of stuff stopped working. Minor stuff like WIFI and texting among others. Thats why I went back to DI01. Last time I checked you couldnt even look for OTA with DJ05 because that function had been deleted.

dj05 was scrapped by verizon in favor of dl09...however smarter people than me believe that very little if anything was changed (for the better anyway) between dj05/dl09

this tends to make me think dl09 shouldnt have been ota-ed either and also scrapped

that being said from issues witnessed between the two...the phone as cd issue is extremely prevalent in dl09...almost common...on dj05 its sporadic...so that alone (given the choice) would make dj05 more appealing

Meh I went to the dl09 update for the GPS fix and just keeping sync with Verizon for the
time being. Once Kaos gets the 2.2 rom fully working.. adios Verizon bloatware!

I went through this yesterday. Frisco posted this article for me:

DL09 update for the Samsung Fascinate brings a mounting headache for many | Android Central

I also spent an hour on the phone with VZW and ended up downloading Media Manager. You don't have to run the program, but apparently, it acts as a driver so that the computer can recognize the phone again. Once I downloaded Media Manager and then did a *228 on my phone (option 2), then the next time I plugged my SF in I had the option to mount like before the stupid update. I've had some strange issues since updating. You might also want to check out the thread: Verizon's Fascinate Update Page ;)

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately, it didn't work for me. I downloaded the media manager, dialed *228 selected option 2 (to "update my roaming" whatever that means).

Still no USB in my notification bar when I plug in USB cable.

About the mounting issue some dude on that other article replied with a link to this thread:

fascinate shows up as cd rom - Android Forums

It basically says:
With debugging on, power phone off, plug into computer and power phone on. That should allow the computer to see your phone.
