Help Will the unlocked HTC Desire HD work in India?

Hey Abinav, check out the forum. There r many threads on this topic in which people have reported that HTC Sense is not working for most of them. I guess in India, and the people on this thread are also facing this same problem. HTC is currently working on fixing HTCSense website and only once all issues are resolved, will the phone finder and other tabs work.

As of now my HTC Sence is able to make the ring phone option but no luck other than that.

But the phone is amazing fast and powerful. Never have I have expreinced such power in my hand since this is the first Android phone I am buying. Come to think of it Iphone4 seems kinda dwarfed as I have handled my friends phones in the past.

I am not trying to put down Iphone, its just my opinion. NO OFFENSE.
 
Guys can you suggest sites and tweak and tips for the DHD.

Just general ideas as to what Indian DHD owners can do and want.

Hello Abinav,

I can give you some info..but this may not answer ur question completely.

First as u know Android phones will be at their productive best when u have a data connection.

Next , u shd go to android market for apps...u can access android market and google services (gmail, gtalk..) only if you have this "Mobile office" for Airtel or Vodafone...dont know about other service providers...

download angry birds game...if u r into facebook and twitter, u can get them...winamp is nice mp3 player free as of now...

Google goggles is a nice app, barcode scanner if u please....

Since the battery capacity is a bit low for DHD... keep a eye on your wireless connections....use bluetooth, wifi, GPS only when need be and keep it OFF to save battery...set screen brightness to 60%....use 2G only if u r not browsing....

HTC friend stream consumes battery if set to auto sync...Turn off auto sync...do it manually..saves a lot of battery...

Hope u have a little info with u now...

while scanning the cr code also do not return the searched app on my market

iMediaShare mobile app for Android :: iMediaShare

but the same is able to be searched on my friend's desire z bought from UK

mine is indian DHD, can anyone who bought their DHD in india try to search this app and scan the cr cde in the link I gave and let me know if u are able to search it pls
 
Hey guys,

Weird thing happened today morning. All the old sms that i had received and sent was sending back continuously and was not able to stop it. Finally I removed the sim and restored to factory settings. Lost a lot of currency. I also had Handcent SMS. Not sure what the reason was.

But did this happen to any of you guys.

I was not able to scan and either search for the app in the market.

Why dont you shoot a mail to the support and figure out why.

Might not be available for indian market.

Cant figure out and other reason.

its available for indian market bcoz it can be searched by desire z but not by DHD
 
Hello to all the HTC DESIRE HD users.....
How is it going......

I want to know form all the TATA DOCOMO users, is it Possible to Use 3G Prepaid Service Packs and 2G / GPRS Prepaid Services simultaniously with the same sim card.....

Or has DOCOMO given an restriction to use only 3G without the possibility to have 2G GPRS Packs,

or Only 2G / GPRS services..... with out 3G Services....

All I am asking is , Is it possible to use 2G / GPRS and 3G Services Simultaniously or Alternatively in the same simcard.


All DOCOMO users ..... Please tell browsing speeds of 2G / GPRS and 3G in comparison.

Is 2G GPRS services so slow that we cannot download applications from the Android Market and do basic web browsing smoothly without too much of lag and and waiting the pages to load every single time......... is it managable....... or too slow to manage..........
Users who have experienced please comment....?

also is the 3G Speeds very fast as what DOCOMO claims to be.......?

3G is coming to all carriers soon. This is latest news from today ;)

"We will make the announcement for the commercial launch of our 3G service in next six to seven days," Bharti Airtel CEO Sanjay Kapoor told PTI.

airtel will roll out 3G services to 13 circles (states) by March 2011.
Karnataka circle is Airtel's largest circle in terms of revenue.so Bangalore got it today...

In Maharashtra circle, Airtel did not get 3G frequency slot...only Tata Docomo,Idea and Vodafone has bagged the slot...
Only Mumbai circle has Airtel 3G..

so its disappointing for pune airtel users seems, there is no plans for airtel to launch 3g here

and prices will be high bcoz its a launch give it few months tarrif should come down

I think DOCOMO and Vodafone have won the 3G licenses for Maharashtra & Goa(including Pune). Also, there's no reason to crib since MNP is available. I have tried DOCOMO in Bangalore and the speeds are good enough to stream a Youtube video without pausing.

A lot of apps are market specific. Since the app that you mentioned is related to video streaming etc., it might not be available for India. Did u check with someone who has bought a Desire Z from India and if they r getting it? If I remember correctly, you mentioned that your friend got the Desire Z from UK.
 
I too wanted to know, if any one here bought a desire z from india and are able to see this app ?

and I thought the market displays currency and apps from where it is accessed, like if I take my phone to switzerland then my android market currency will change and accordingly the apps, similarly if I take my phone to australia, currency and apps will change again. so its from where we are accessing should not be where where I bought my phone, bcoz then how will you explain the currency of android market is in indian rupees and not in UK for the ones whoc bought phone from UK and using in india
 
even more frustrating...an app called "mobiesta" which is an indian app, even this is not getting searched in my DHD but same is searched from UK Desire Z

common who can explain this nonsense :(
