Does youtube work after It's rooted?

Can I watch shows from hulu.com or netflix.com on a rooted nook?

Can you install flash 10.xx?

Youtube works even if it's not rooted when viewed in the browser when you go through m.youtube. However, when you root you get the youtube app which works well with the nook.

Not sure about hulu or netflix.

AFAIK, flash cannot be installed.

Hulu doesn't work because Flash doesn't work. :)

Netflix doesn't work on any Android device that I'm aware of, but I may be wrong there. I'm not a Netflix subscriber so I'm talking out of my ass here.

No Netflix, No Flash.

You can get some web videos if you install the Skyfire Browser. I used mine today to watch a video from NHL.com

You can have Flash if you Flash 2.2+ I use it regularly.

As far as Netflix goes, not yet. There are some security issues being worked out currently to protect DRM material (or whatever the Legal term for videos is). Problem is, they have identified certain devices (processors apparently) as being more vulnerable than others. That means, they have to do work specifically to account for a variety of platforms (Snapdragon, Tegra, etc...). My point in bringing this up is that if Android develops some protection for future devices, and then has to do some specific modifications to current device processes to "Grandfather them in", I HIGHLY doubt the NC will be on that list. Especially, seeing as that it's not even 'designed' to be a tablet.

But, what do I know :D

Could be that since the NC runs off the same ARM Cortex-A8 line of processors as the OG Droid, Samsung Galaxy devices, and the EVO, it may be ported to the NC as well. Would be nice.

And Hulu, there is a Hulu app for rooted devices (at least the DInc), but I never had much luck with it and uninstalled it because I never really used it.

Pretty certain that Hulu uses Silverlight, not Flash. So Hulu doesn't even work on systems that have Flash.

Since MS owns the Silverlight code, there are some issues porting it to Android, especially concerning DRM. I'm certain there are some technical reasons, but more likely there are also some business reasons why it won't work.

Best hope is for a Hulu app.

i believe hulu uses flash. I have a hulu app on my evo that depends on a hacked up flash apk, which is why I am led to believe that

Yeah, I think it uses Flash as well. I don't think I have Silverlight installed on my computer at home and I can watch Hulu with no issues. I can also watch with a hacked Flash version on my phone as well.
