Root LG Optimus M Development

Probably with

http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/256286-custom-recovery-ms690-optimus-m.html

lol right now i'm trying to get my phone to recover from

http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/222328-kernel-thunderc-sprint-optimus-s-oc.html

Having tons of trouble gettin the system.img to download properly from here, keeps gettin cut off.

Use the downgrader it'll set you straight http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus...-downgrade-pssst-look-here-if-you-do-lol.html

Gonna try this anyways, but it says:

Make sure you have your phone in USB debugging mode by going to Settings/Applications/Development and tapping on USB debugging

have no way to do that lol, because my entire touch isn't working. Not bricked, but like the touch interface isn't responding. Though still lights up and shows the full android interface wifi/reception and all. The only keys that work is home, menu and lock. And of course my phone turns on locked.

Sorry bout that. I was quickly asking if http://androidforums.com/getitnowmarketing/222328-kernel-thunderc-sprint-optimus-s-oc.html, works on the LGMS690, aka lg optimus M.

Used the custom recovery, but lol now my touch interface doesn't do anything. Also just tried to do what you said, but i can't get my phone into debugging mode. Only buttons that work is lock key, menu, and home. Was gonna try nandroid recovery. Though never done it before.

Shit didn't think of that. well do you have a custom recovery installed? If you do then flash my rom for now. here that'll get you back on point. Also you say you did a nandroid then wipe and restore your nandroid. You should be good. Don't flash boot images, kernels ...anything from other optimus phones unless you know how to restore. They'll just mess your phone up

No i didn't wipe and restore on nandroid yet cause i don't have a system.img lol. That's why i was trying to download it. Now my drivers are all ****ed up rofl. I'll flash your rom soon as i get the darn usb driver working. Thanks again.

If you did a nandroid then you should have system image  I guess I'm gonna have to make a video for this to explain it to people. Anyways I'm going to bed good luck

Well lol didn't realize what nandroid was till i installed the custom recovery, thankfully that at least worked. Otherwise, i'd have no options lol. Trying your custom rom now.

Where you able to recover your phone?

Yes, I was able to get it fully working. In case you didn't read lol, I accidentally used the thunder S optimus flash rom. It actually worked to some degree, but my touch interface wouldn't respond. The only buttons working was the lock, menu, and home key. I used the zero rom to restore my phone completely. Then i used the custom recovery to flash my rom to the thunder M beta, and then used stage fright. Running at 768 mhz.

lol maybe I'm a little late but are you done with the ROM? The only one I have flashed is the Zero 1.0, unless that's yours XD anyways let me knoww, plz!

Those shysters were trying to sell some files, specifically the Component and Generic .dll files that are used to make LG's phone flasher, LGNPST, functional.

Now this wouldn't have been a problem, because all versions of those files up to 4.0 had already been posted in a thread on their site. I happened to obtain the full set that they were trying to sell.

After reading a few posts and seeing how they flamed anyone that requested the files for free, calling them leeches and such, I uploaded the files to a mediafire account and posted the link on not just cdmaguru's forum but mobile-files.us. I am currently banned from both sites. It's nothing a proxy server and a new account wouldn't remedy, but why bother. I did what I set out to do and it's over. Besides the files can be found free of charge in this thread here: http://androidforums.com/lg-optimus-m/254250-lgnpst-lab-1-2-better-than-my-fix.html

So far they're out about $1,150. :D

Nice. I like your style.

Any further development in this? I just got a Optimus M two weeks ago and have been playing around with the system files a little bit after rooting the phone. I'm a true modder at heart and would love to help when need be. I'm just getting into the android platform and are eating up all the knowledge I can find on this device. I know about iOS but I like the android platform way better.
