Worms, now available on the Market

When you downrate the product simply because it didn't work for you, I would say that is prety stupid. That said, I am not sure of an acceptable alternate, being that giving it ANY starts at that point wouldn't make it an honest review either.

Well if you want to get the developers attention to fix the game that does not work. You would naturally want to post a comment about it, but to do that you have to give the game a score. Expecting someone to not give a 1 star to a game that doesn't work is ridiculous.

So let me start by saying i love Worms, love this game, and i just bought it. However, since the leaked version was floating around, i havent been able to get the music to work on my vibrant. I was hoping that this version (the official release) would have fixed it, but no luck. Is it just me or are other vibrants music-less?

I hadn't noticed before but yeah no music for me either. I have a Galaxy S as well. Are you sure it's just limited to our phone or is this an issue with all version?

Incredible here. No music and random clicking noises too. It ran fine on my OG Droid. Hopefully they fix this since this is one of my favorite games.

I have been waiting 5 weeks for EA to fix NFS Shift. I have sent two messages to their support and got no response. So unfortunately I don't expect a fix, but we can at least hope.

Music it not working properly on my Galaxy S, getting popping sounds instead of music, otherwise the game works fine.

It was published by Electronic Arts Mobile. So far, it looks like a shady version of EA Mobile. They don't have Tetris, FIFA 10 or The Sims 3 up. They had The Sims 3 before, but it got taken down. Might be why some of you are getting the same problems as in the leaked version. I'd wait to see EA Mobile release it, not Electronic Arts Mobile.

Emails work wonders my friend. If they get a ton of emails, it sure works better than idiots blindly down rating the game. A personalized email with a little more info than "dozent wirk on epick -- SHIT GAME" will get developement attention and appreciation much more.

FWIW, problem could be with their phone or a conflicting program as well. May not be specific to the game/handset model at all. So no, it is not ridiculous. Some people are too inept to try to help themselves first, and blame everyone else they can. The 15 minute refund window is certainly no help in this matter.

FWIW, that isn't necessarily limited to THIS SPECIFIC game/app at all. There is just an overall abundance of idiots doing rating apps on the marketplace. Have you seen how many apps will have a compatibility list and people with devices that ARE NOT in that list will down rate it and say it doesn't work, but continue to quote what device they are using it on? And no, I am not a developer, just a consumer like the vast majority of Android users.

Emails never work with EA. I sent them one 5 weeks ago so don't tell me it works wonders. But I'm certain with other developers it does.

If a game does not work I always say what happens in the comments on the Android market and what phone I have, android version and firmware. The developer has direct access to this feed so at least I know they get it.

I will also email them, but in the case of EA you just get an automated response and it seems unlikely anyone reads it.

I think lots of comments complaining the game does not work and low rating score can work just as well.

Look, I don't mean to argue with you, but have you seen the vast majority of FEEDBACK attached downratings? YOU specifically might give all the information the dev needs. The average person certainly does not. This is all I mean to point out here. I don't mean to step on any toes, but I still stand by the fact that no dev is going to view a down thumb and a "Doesn't work - XXX device" as valuable feedback, especially when, frequently, others have it working on that very same device. [Case in point, one guy says he can't get it to work on his evo, another says he does, but simply thinKs the controls are too small. THIS is what I mean. If it works for one guy and not the other, what on earth is EA supposed to do with JUST that information? -- FWIW, this is coming from a quick search I just did on the officil market app, and ALL apps are filled with these kinds of reviews.]

Please also don't disregard the fact that many games/apps have a device list that people just tend to overlook. Again, I am talking about the average review that one tends to see on any given day browsing any given app. If you don't fit that category, then you are not the average person.

Furthermore, an email does not need to be replied to by the dev to signify it is noticed. Not sure what you want as a reply. Just about the best a large company is going to do is send you a generic response stating "Thanks for your feedback" - which sounds like what you had gotten. Also, I am not understanding how you think your emails would not be read but somehow ratings/feedback would be. If one is not read at all, mostly likely the other wouldn't be either. Far more quality feedback can be produced through an email than a ratings board. JMO of course :)

I've never played worms before...but since this game got a lot of hype, thought i'd give it a go.

Do others find this tough to play and control? All the worms look the same to me - and it seems like you need to do a lot of zoom-in and zoom-out to really figure out what's going on.

Why do you keep arguing this, what is your deal? If something is wrong with the game people will comment about it, deal with it. Does it do anything, maybe, maybe not. But what could an email do that a comment couldn't. If there are a lot of comments or emails saying the same thing than a good developer should be able to figure out its an issue with a good portion of the people that bought the game. Also EA does not read the email, it basically says so in the response as they tell you to go to their web site for support.

I noticed that as well, I did purchase it though...and lo and behold like many other 'complainers' on the markert () I had a problem when it go for licence checking and it force closing...so I checked a leaked copy and have the exact same problem..

I do wonder if it is a 'genuine' which is on the market or not..

EDIT: On second look this is genuine by EA, just for some reason the market had no clue as to who Electronic Arts Mobile was and had no other games listed by them....so first glance they would look suspicious..

still force closes though lol

Yeah the EA Mobile and Electronic Arts Mobile thing is weird.

EA Mobile has FIFA 10, Tetris, Sims 3 and the NFS Shift

Electronic Arts Mobile has Worms and NFS Shift (but a different version number, neither work for me)

EA Mobile takes payments in US dollars and Electronic Arts Mobile takes payments in Euros.

I'm not sure if one is fake or if they just have set up one for Europe and One for US and Canada just happens to see both. When I spoof the market to make it think I'm from the US I don't see Electronic Arts.

It's all very peculiar.

My intent was never to argue, but if you are going to claim I am, it take two to do so my friend. I suppose we will have to agree to disagree. I only wanted to point out that it is hard for a developer to fix problems with a game when the majority of the feedback they get is a thumb down and no actual information about the problem they are having. Yes, a poorly written email is the same as a poorly written review. I suppose we do agree on that.

Go ahead and get the last word in bud. Clearly you have missed my point.

*puts on comedy frenchman's voice*

ah...such is life...:D

well someone is listening... I just went to play it and it prompted the additional content data download screen. I accepted and it downloaded an additional 5 mb of data, now, lo and behold, music on my Vibrant. I just changed my market rating to 5 stars

I can't fracking believe this. EA sucks.

Worms, just like NFS Shift is released and works great on my Galaxy S. Then shortly after release they release an update. After the update is applied the game no longer works. It says 'License Start' and then it crashes back to the home screen.

Yea that's the error everyone including myself is now getting....and that's on both bought an leaked version....I might add only tested leaked version for test reasons...I did actuallly buy the game and not been refunded :(

:( I'm sorry, but not everyone is getting it. I'm playing Worms right now in all it's horrible zoom glory. Running on Epic and have not had any problems with Worms or Need For Speed.

No, not everyone, but based on comments a lot of people are. Looking at the comments from the past couple days puts it about 90% not working. So its great its working for you, but try not to argue the fact that it's not a big issue for most people.

I wonder if it has anything to do with being rooted or running a custom rom.
