EchO In HTC HD2/Cyanogen 7/Gingerbread 2.3 on SD Card.

Hi there Experts ,
I hope this finds you all in the best of our health.
I have a little in both my android HTC HD2s.
All the people that I talk to complain of a lot of Echo( they hear their own voices echo) when talking to me on HTC HD2/Cyanogen 7 Gingerbread 2.3 on SD and it only happens in Android. I've tested it and call quality is OK in Windows Mobile( remember im running my Android on an SD Card on top of Windows.....its not a NAND Install like Talderon suggested) .

Have you ever come across a situation like this?
Is there a config or a setting that Im over looking?
I know Cyanogen 7 Mod/GB2.3 is awesome(Thanks to Talderon and San Antone).
So must be something Im doing wrong.
Help folks!!!!!!!!!
thanks,
King A. Koopa

Weren't you running nand install before? Did you have this issue with that?

Is this a new issue? If it is, what changes have you made to the phone? Settings, apps installed, enabled/disabled, etc...

Here's where I would go:

1.
power phone down
remove and reinsert SD card
power back up

Report results

2.
Get another SD card and install 2.3 ONLY
insert and boot up phone

Results

3.
Have a friend with an HD2 try current SD card

Results

4.
Factory reset phone and format card.
Reinstall 2.3

Results

5.
I'm assuming you have spent the $5.00 on Titanuim Backup with all the issues you have had. This will restore all apps. Install 2 or 3 at a time, enable and do the settings as you want them.
make a call to QC these apps and the phones' performance after every install

Results.

I know this sounds like a PITA, but you are having more issues with this than anyone I have heard of. I have installed this on about a dozen phones and have seen none of the issues you are reporting. You, Sir insipre much thought.

Let us know how this goes.

None of what you suggested worked.
I dont see how this could be related to SD-Card when the key element in this issue is the Mic Gain.

Its not just one phone but all 3 of my HTC HD2s.
Works fine in Windows Mobile but sucks in android.

Talderon?Anyone else come across this issue?

so i renamed default.acdb file in /system/etc/firmware to XXXdefault.adcb and restarted my machine.
Its half past 2 in the morning right now , so i could only test with my other phone and works great.
Ill post more results tomorrow morning when i call my buddies to test it.
I hope this is it !
King !

After renaming the file,Phone is back to normal.
Everything work perfectly fine.
Did the same on all HTC HD2s....all are back to normal.

Thought Inspiring San Antone?

San Antone,
I checked the filesystem.
It did not create a new default.acdb under system/etc/firmware.
No new default.acdb...just the same old renamed file there working fine on my HD2.
So no use sending you the default.acbd.

However , My wife's phone has the same issue.
So i did the same thing , renamed the file on her HD2.
So echo is gone now , but now she hears the other party talking with a robot voice/ or a weird baby bunny voice....
My HD2's Radio version is 2.10
Hers is 2.15 (Which Jayceooi recommends in his blogs....google for Jayceooi robot voice)

Gosh , I dont know im so lost here.

oh trust me San......Ive done this several times.
Right now its got the renamed default.acdb on it.
and once you rename it , you gotta reboot it.
so ive rebooted several times.

are you havint the same issues?
did you try to simply rename the default.acdb file?
try that first...
if that doesnt work (god forbid)
then we gotta figure out something else pal !

Jayceooi says in his blog.....upgrade rom and hspl 3...i dont know anything about these!

whoaaaaaaa man why does it have to be so complicated

Personally, I love NAND over any SD Builds for the single boot reasons. Now that Clockwork Mod Recovery is available, you can update ROM's without wipes as well, so might want to think about that too. :)

Im scared if i screw it up , i dont know what might happen.

Dual boot kind of gives me a backup phone in case android dies on me, ill be able to switch to windows.
Trust me i hate Microsoft with a passion and Im in love with Android , but i feel like android is not that stable right now.

Plus i dont know if I will be able to go back to windows/stock form if something happens on NAND Android.

Talderon , what do you mean? I have no idea what that is.....is that in NAND or SD? sorry about the stupid Noob question.

Guys I tried this file and this fixed my issue.
I hope this helps everyone....
God Bless you guys San Antone & Talderon

I followed atama's instructions from the following URL:
[SOLVED] Background noise fix / mic gain fix - Page 4 - xda-developers

I Have attached the htcleo.zip file. Unzip it and stick the htcleo.acdb file in /system/etc/firmware.
I have also attached the default.acdb from htchd2 forum which didnt work.
YOu might want to compare the files....and where the delta is.
god bless & good luck !
