[Confirmed] February 22nd Release Date

Just called my at&t store to see if they had setup their demo unit yet and they said they will have it in store and will be able to sell it on this sunday the 20th!! I asked him again if it was just the demo that would be setup and he said no they will actually be able to sell them on sunday. He said he wasn't sure how many they were getting because alot would be pre-orders. Still this is really good news!! He sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Might have to cancel my pre-order if I don't get my atrix by then.

UPDATE: RELEASE DATE IS CONFIRMED BY AT&T FOR ATRIX TO BE RELEASED ON THE FEB 22ND :D

Following our report from earlier this morning suggesting the Motorola ATRIX 4G would become available on February 22nd, AT&T has reached out to clarify launch details surrounding the anticipated device. Motorola’s ATRIX 4G will indeed launch on February 22nd in AT&T stores across the country for $199.99. Pre-sales of the Motorola ATRIX 4G began earlier this week on February 13th, and customers who pre-ordered the phone for home delivery will see their orders ship on February 21st. Customers who pre-ordered their phones and opted to have them shipped to a local AT&T store will be able to pick them up on February 21st, one day ahead of general availability.

I don't think your man has the right information. I was just at work today (I work at a COR store) and there's ZERO on the back-end of actual release dates...... but maybe his store got something I didn't, but usually it all gets delivered in the same way.

where do you live?
 
I called the AT&T Small Business Center trying to pre-order and what I was told if I wanted to keep my unlimited data plan I would have to wait until the Atrix was released in their Corporate Stores on March 6th. If I wanted to give up my unlimited plan for one of the two listed on the web site I could pre-order on line and it would be shipped two to three business days prior to release.
 
I certainly hope it will come out this Sunday. I just pre-ordered the phone today and can't wait to use an Android phone for the very 1st time!!

Most don't even have their demo ATRIX phones yet.. They are using mine.. LAWL

The guy did say they didnt have demo units yet but that they would have retail units ready on sunday.

So no chance some stores are getting these on sunday?
 
We would have heard by now if it was to be released on Sunday....

The guy who installed my experience table had to use his own atrix.
 
I am getting sick of all the rumors and misinformation, I think the only FACT in all this is that AT&T does not know anything for sure when it comes to this phone. This has been a mess from the beginning. The pricing is all over the place, there's some loosing unlimited data some keeping it. NOTHING is sure but AT&T's ineptitude. They have no clue how to price it or the accessories, no idea how to communicate with their customers, it's the most screwed up launch of a highly anticipated device I can remember. All that said I WANT MY ATRIX!!!!! :)

Actually, the pricing IS set, the knowledge is there that people can keep their unlimited data, and at&t as a company knows when it will launch. However, the release date has not been shared with the retail component of the company or the general community.... so that is the only part still up to speculation.

I'll take a pic of our table once our demo Atrix comes in for it... until then, it's just a laptop dock, keyboard, mouse, monitor, charging dock, and hd dock.... that do nothing, except the monitor that plays a loop with all the same info we've seen.

am I to understand you have an atrix yourself right now? If that's true, would you care to comment on screen quality? specifically with regard to the smooth rendering of text and any high-contrast GUI elements. thanks.
 
I called last night (2/15/2011 @ 10pm) to inquire about the porting of the grandfathered, unllimited data/voice/text plan...the service rep said that it will apply to the atrix, no problem. No change in grandfathered plan at all.
 
My local AT&T corporate store already has the otterbox and a few speck cases for the atrix on sale and display (under and to the left of the inspire haha)

Maybe it's a sign? The cases weren't out there two days ago.
 
in the ATT store at Natick Mall (MA) all the other stuff laptop dock, multimedia dock etc there on the experience table but in place of Atrix I found they displayed Inspire on the doc :) funny though out of 5-6 customer in the store no one was even bothered to look at that .. poor cousin.
