Help tiny display dots were greatly disappointing

No apology necessary. You're a very helpful poster. I don't have any problems with you. I just don't wanna be on the other end of one of your "attacks" lol

LOL I wasnt attacking lol if you know my boy Baldilocks he was very anti inspire pro Atrix and I think he needed there to be something wrong with the Inspire, I just poke him because we mess around like that he knows it :)

There is no inspire elitism. when the gripe is real or actually affects the usage and or functionality of the phone people discuss it on these forums fine. When you pick something that in many peoples opinion is so asinine its seems as though your just searching for a reason to hate because you want to not like the phone. Almost like you had to justify returning it so you could get that atrix and not feel bad

Yeah a lot of users in this Inspire forum are just flat out unobjective. They refuse to acknowledge anything negative about the phone. There is some kind of Inspire click or club going on here, posting giddy comments gushing on and on about the Inspire (which is fine actually). But god forbid you post anything remotely negative about the Inspire.

It’s almost like they take any criticisms or negatives about the Inspire personally. For goodness sake, it’s just a cell phone.

Yes and the dots are just dots. It's not a negative so that's why its laughable and most are reacting the way they are

To be fair, I'm not sure the dots are a reasonable criticism of the phone. The too short battery life might be a reasonable criticism. Dots are not.

Yes and if you see the battery threads those of us who have good battery life are trying to help those with bad battery life. The reason this was treated that way is because.this in no way is a negative. It seems like finding a reason to hate the phone just to hate

I'd agree with you... except that I have yet to see what's "wrong" with my display. I've looked and just can't find a reason to be unhappy with it. As was said elsewhere, bring up a valid issue and maybe we'll see some of this unobjectivity, but until then I'm not seeing much fanboi stuff going on. Even the battery life issue seems to be dying down, where apparently between the power-management of the phone and the battery itself settling down, isn't proving to be a concern.

Exactly. It's all about the issue. If.it was a real issue instead of a non issue then we would be ok and helpful. When you come into a forum and drop something as this and never post again how is that supposed to be taken

That's not the case though. you, me, and others don't have a problem. There's nothing 'wrong' with the display. I love the display. Like I said, among the best I've ever used. But I have noticed the dots, with the screen off and me just admiring the phone cosmetically. It's a total non issue to me. It's a valid issue to some, just not most. In fact, the ones with the problems are probably in the minority.

Yes but its not even that. It's the manner of posting one post and it being dismissing and the only post. Then for another to chime in just to state that he returned the phone. It's not like its an issue and they are asking for help. It's a hit piece. I mean if you returned the phone why come into inspire forums just to say this trivial issue

This reminds me of way back when I supported SONY Trinitron CRT monitors. Every call was a complaint about those 2 thin wires that go across the screen. People wanted to return their monitors because of those wires. It was a nightmare.

Yea the difference is NO one will return there inspire except baldilocks lol

Those dots are not just on this phone, they are on other htc devices too, it's the way they make them. My droid Eris had them also. And my brothers EVO had them and his Eris did too.

I have to say, I went into the store WANTING to get the Inspire.

I held it on and off in my hand, and the dots simply were distracting.

I'm sorry this doesn't settle with some folks, but the experience was undeniably disappointing.

I'm considering trying it out for a while to see if I can get past the display problem.

Since I've gotten my Chrome notebook I've seen devices differently. I' m not beholden to any device, but want a device to do what it should do. Display for me is part of that experience with my cell phone.

It's funny cause at first, I saw them but couldn't care less. Then when I customized, I applied my carbon fiber background and now you can't hardly see them at all! I customized the dragon with the owner's permission and added it to the carbon fiber. I could make different colors if anyone is interested.

Really? Very cool what's the one you have now look like?

LOL People seriously complain about that? Anyway my inspire has been good so far, just kinda poor battery life and poor speaker, beyond that its great! Waiting for Arc to compare and will make my choice but the inspire is just fantastic!

lol this thread is amusing.. sorry.

it doesn't bother me at all.
my boyfriend has the captivate and yes his phone's display screen is amazing.

but.... the inspire is still pretty amazing as well. its better than most phones out there and I'm a satisfied customer *minus my data plan issue....grrr*
