Friend of mine bought the Inspire last week and he has no issues loading 3rd party apps and his is not hacked or rooted in any way.

First, I own an Evo, wife has new Evo Shift. The difference between 1st and 2nd generation chips here is phenomenal. Second, I work in the semiconductor industry in R&D, so I know the reasons for that are neither circumstantial nor coincidental.

The little Shift in its stock form is nearly matching my customed kernel setup in speed and smoothness and the battery life is blowing me away - at a 20% reduction in clock speed.

The Thunderbolt is promising all that and more.

And wait until you live with a kickstand - that's no gimmick, that's a breakaway feature that will change how you use a phone. Trust me, you have no idea! :) ;)

I have superior Sprint coverage, and rule one is pick your carrier.

Otherwise, I'd be all over the Thunderbolt like yellow on a lemon.

Trust me, compadres, this phone is going to be well worth the wait x10. ;)

Words of wisdom, there. I have a colleague that moved carriers simply for the phone. Needless to say, for him it didn't work out. The coverage with the new carrier was poor in the two areas that he spends the most time- home and work. Yes, the phone (HTC Evo) is(was) awesome, but if you can't use it- what's the point of the gadgetry? Bottom line- yes new phones are great, but be smart with a switch or you'll be out of some money. So he had to go back to his original carrier and just be patient until a decent Android handset landed, which was only two months. I also had an Evo, but when I moved to a new location the CDMA reception was poor so we switched to AT&T. It's more expensive but the coverage is superior in our location. Enter the Inspire 4G. I sold my iPhone 4 to get it and it's phenomenal. Certainly quicker and more efficient than the Evo, as great a phone as that is. Love Android, no regrets. The great thing we all have is selection and the ability to find a phone that fits us.

To get back on point- I agree with the Mod, I truly miss the kickstand of my Evo. In fact, I am buying a case for the Inspire that has it built in. It truly is a breakaway feature and I miss it dearly on flights.

You folks that are eagerly anticipating the Thunderbolt will surely enjoy it.
 
hey guys, im new here because ive been keeping an eye on this thunderbolt...I dont know how much you should go with me but i know that target is selling thunderbolts March 6th...my brother is manager for the mobile section and was told
 
Just another boring Monday in the office (and I have to work on a holiday to boot). Anyone have any new info? I got nothin, sorry. lol

Maybe I'm just dumb, but didnt best buy get the exclusive rights to sell this? Which leaves Target out?

If that is the case then it would seem that (assuming the 6th is correct and barring any further delays - which is plausible) BB/VZW would be getting it before that date. A possible bookend. (but again useless til an actual release date is given by VZW

I have no clue. Doesn't matter to me as I am getting it at VZW.
 
That's what i thought u meant by that lol! BB here in williamsport PA told me Saturday the 24th release so we will see! And I dont see Target sell the TB they didnt get the Iphone did they?

The iPhone is a completely different animal that is built by the extreme of the extreme when it comes to control freaks. I'm sure VZW or BB had no say in the matter as to the who, what, when and where when it came to the iPhone.
