[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

I would rather they get all the kinks out before the phone is released, Verizon learned a lot from the storm 1 debacle.. There are so many things that this phone is supposed to do, being the "first" 4G LTE device on a BRAND new infrastructure I am sure they want it to work flawlessly.. I plan on getting this phone on release and would prefer it be "ready" rather than rushing out a half baked product with tons of "coming soon" features..

Black_man_x said as much the other day.

Black_man_x has been the one saying from day one that the phone isn't delayed at all, and that you can't delay something that was never announced. In fact from everything he has said they are pushing up the release date, it was suppose to be sometime in March.

If anyone has followed black_man_x he has said from the beginning that this phone wasn't even suppose to be released until March, but they were working hard to push it up to get it out for US the customers.

I remember us all waiting for the Incredible, it was the same thing then, we didn't know for the longest time when it was going to be released.

Funny story, today I was in a Verizon, I asked about the Xoom and if it was going to be released Thursday. Employee looked at me like how did you find out, then said he wasn't sure it was releasing then or not. Weird...

Next I asked when the Thunderbolt was going to be released, he immediately said not till end of March early April.

This is why I never believe anything they say.

speaking of release dates, and i'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but the feb. 10th release date for the verizon iphone was announced on jan. 11th. it was quite clear for a month when that phone was coming out. obviously it was a horse of a different color as far as releases go, but they still made sure to give a decent announcement. the question is, why not this time?

Finally 1.21 gigawatts is packed into a hand held device! This release is making me crazy...

This was a little diffrent of a situation, they were aiming at stealing AT&T customers , giving more time for them to cancel there plans or do whatever they need to do to make the switch. Ultimately it was kind of a flop but they expected a lot more people to make the switch

Even if it did, it was not an announcement, it was an internal document that was leaked.

My point is people keep saying BB made the dates up and this proves they didn't. Besides Amazon also posted this same date on their sale page and took it down shortly after this leaked page came out.

I do not recall people saying BB made the dates up, more like should have kept quite about the dates.

Wow, deja vu.... didn't we go through this with the Incredible, the EVO 4G, now this and the Atrix? Anyone see a pattern here?

Guys, you're being played by the manufacturer and/or carrier - it's a good old-fashioned marketing ploy to build up expectation for "the next big thing" and ensure a successful launch. Yes it's frustrating but that's no excuse for venting on other members. Keep your posts the right side of respectful, please.

This was definitely insinuated by people that said VZW never announced a date. It just wasn't publicly announced.

Well that is what I would think an announcement means right? They didn't announce it because they weren't sure if it would make it out at that time. They must have gave Best Buy a date they were hoping to meet, but this is why they didn't make an announcement.

Well two Verizons I have talked to today both said they are selling them on the 28th, still don't ever trust them.

I would wonder if Best Buy gets to sell it a little early though. What is the difference between buying at Best Buy and Verizon though? I am sure it has been asked a thousand times, so sorry in advance.

Bottom line is, it will get here when it is street ready. Verizon Retail, Best Buy and all of the other outlet chains really don't have a clue. Until the final QA engineer puts his stamp of approval on it, all anybody can do it speculate. Don't bother asking a Verizon store, because those people are clueless. We have far more industry talent on these boards and others alike, than any of the Retail chains, including Best Buy and Verizon. I would guarantee, if you follow this forum, you will find out the real release date before any person working behind a retail counter.

Very true, this site in general has been truly awesome. I have been addicted to phones since I found this site. I know phones that are coming out half a year before anyone at any local Verizon does.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE... MOVE ALONG

I will reiterate the point of my post for those that didn't grasp it:

"Have they instilled me with a confidence that they know what they are doing? No."

I wouldn't go to a Doctor that I wasn't confident in. I'm not sure I want a phone that apparently isn't stable enough to have a firm release date set.

Apparently I'm nobody. Thanks for making it personal! Now if you're done with the insults (very nice behavior for a Moderator, by the way) I will reiterate the point of my post for those that didn't grasp it:

Good day.

So would you rather a doctor give you surgery that isn't ready yet? I didn't think so. Also gobludjd didn't say anything to insult you, so I don't know why you are getting defensive.

What he was saying who are you? Who am I? We are the customers yes, but we are not the ones making sure the phone and software is ready to go, they are.

We will be informed when it is ready, everyone needs to chill about that.
