I see your point about the delay, and it's a good one. I believe mine to be valid as well. Instead of focusing on that... we both agree that VZW has no confidence in their ability to release this phone by a specific date, and that was the MAIN point of my post.

While I understand what you are saying, the whole point was originally Verizon wasn't planning on releasing this phone until mid to late March. They have been trying to get it ready for an earlier launch for us.

Currently they are still working out the problems with that, that is why it wasn't suppose to be launched yet. So we should be lucky they are working their butts off to get us this phone earlier.

I understand it can be frustrating, but everyone just needs a little patience and we will get there.

I said NOTHING about them releasing the phone now. All I said was, once again, the fact that they can't announce a date leaves me with little confidence in them. I don't care if that date is April 25th. At least then I would know that they have identified the bugs and have a plan to fix them. That is ALL I am saying.

That was far from making it personal "hence" the cool smiley. I was making a point that a multi million dollar company would surely have a plan in place and not have a adhoc strategy.

Sorry, but "Seriously who are you that they need to present a PLAN to YOU." is belittling. I would resent that answer from a forum member and I resent it MORE from a Moderator. I'll probably get banned for this, but I think I have EVERY right to expect better behavior from a Mod. Period.

You shouldn't expect to get banned unless you do something wrong, everyone has the right to voice their opinion. As I said earlier, gobluejd wasn't meaning anything personally to you, I thought that much was clear.

Our mods here do a very good job of keeping these forums clean, but they are human and joke around with us to. They make sure the forums don't get out of hand, but they also partake in posting with us. I would say most of the people here appreciate that, ours mods don't try to act like they are better than us, this is why I love coming to these forums.

Uh, If they are then id also say, "WOW". I like them because they usually have useful information about the device im looking into..(the forum not the mods..)

Waiting on useful info.
 
We are very important because we are the consumers. If we don't buy the products and sign the contracts then they suffer as a business. So they should be doing what they can to keep us as consumers, happy. I agree that they should take their time to make sure this launch is done right, but I disagree that they are currently handling this in the correct way. Something as simple as an acknowledgement that they originally planned to release this phone early but are currently fixing some last minute issues would be greatly appreciated. The genie is already out of the bottle and ignoring the situation is definitely not making consumer perception any better.

You don't have to go back and edit your posts, you won't be banned because of this. The staff can see every edit anyway. ;) It's not some kind of reign of terror we've got running here, mods are just members that were picked to help keep the forums clean.

Regarding gobluedj's post, well, I don't think it was meant to be offensive at all, especially with the use of this smiley: :cool:

I think we can simply all move on now, no need to burst this thing out of proportions. :)

They have NOT gave a release date AT ALL.
They are NOW starting to market, new commericals magazine etc (to build hype).

What is there to not understand. This was the same with the BB STORM and HTC Incredible.

I hear ya...just think that many people have been waiting for this phone to drop since September when it was a 3G device. I wouldn't be as anxious if there was one decent 4.3" alternative with Verizon...but the X doesn't cut it :)

Would you mind calling my girlfriend and explaining this to her? She doesn't want to listen to me.

I found the hardware on the Fascinate to be TOP NOTCH, but I kinda like Froyo, and that's apparently NEVER going to happen. I can't remember how many times I've said (or wrote) I wish Verizon had an EVO (I'm big time oversimplifying that statement... I understand that the Bolt is a CLEARLY superior and different device) and every day since Jan 6th has been TORTURE:(

I agree with your statement, however, as somebody else pointed out earlier... people on this forum and any other forum will account for about 1-2% of the total sales of the Thunderbolt. 95% or better of the "will be consumers" at this point haven't even heard of the Thunderbolt.... YET.

And that is what I am thankful for, makes it easier for me to walk in and get the phone myself. :D
 
Not sure what it means, but in the last hr I have been watching TV, I've seen the Thunderbolt commercial 3 times. They are pumping it up on the air waves!

Miami has done it again; this time he got his hands on a picture of what Verizon stores are hiding behind those closed doors. The picture was taken of some freshly opened HTC Thunderbolt and a very attractive Motorola Xoom, and it seems everything is set for the big launch next week.

That is all we have for you tonight. Spread the word guys, these bad boys are finally ready for us to get our hands on.

edit the thunderbolt is a dummy:( miami has the live editions of both though and he is claiming some vzws do as well
