do you think the bionic could be better than previously thought since the os wasnt supporting dual cores at the time and even though it has less ram unless that is changed? I was a huge follower on the TB but with verizon doing this ive lost a lot of interest

He says "for despite the clamor and Jobs much hyped antenna .." which is talking about the hype around the iPhone release on Verizon. He is saying that even though there is going to be a bunch of hype around the Verizon iPhone the Thunderbolt and Bionic are going to be available not long after it.

New iPhones are announced the same time every year, and that is in the summer. BMX has already said he was talking about the TB and the Bionic.

Well I've done a little back tracking to figure out what was really meant and here's what i come up with (the sad thing too about this, he posted this back in January the 10th.

When we see March approaching
we hear about St Patricks day or sometime in March
for yet were still in Winter with spring not far off
we may still yet get the ThunderBolt before the end of winter (so that should be soon since Spring is i think the second week of March?) LOL

then the part about the iphone and the hype

We should ignore the Iphone for there are better treasures to behold
such as the dual core goodness that will come around the Passover (Easter)

Did we already all forget about the Droid X2 and its dual core
and since it doesn't have a FFC or 4G it will easily not affect Bionic sales since it has both those that the Droid X2 doesn't have.

thats my theory on that poem

I dissected it a little longer and thats what i came up with.

Anyone else with this dilemma? I pre-ordered the Bolt at BB, when I did so this was because I want to have the Bolt and try it out, and if I love it keep it, if I dont, use my free buy back plan and get a Bionic when it comes out.

If the Bolt doesnt come out til 28th I cannot do this, Ill have to pay the 70 bucks if I dont want to take a leap of faith on this phone which, although it looks awesome, it does not have the dual-core so many of this next gen is sporting.

The Bolt does however have more ram 768 vs 512.

So if the phone is delayed til the 28th do I just get the Bolt with no buy back plan cause its gonna be awesome? Do I throw down the 70 bucks for when a dual core comes out that I want later this year (doesnt have to be Bionic)?

Basically is the Dual-core going to be an issue?

as far as the ram in the TB compared to the bionic i have read that the bionic does have 512 compared to 768 but since its down the road alittle more that there are chances we could see that increase. hope so myself

Personally, I'd take the increased RAM vs the dual core. Perhaps new programs will utilize it much more, but essentially it only really helps running multiple programs (ie one in the background). I guess I don't really have multiple programs taxing the processor often, maybe I just don't realize it. I do, however, have a tendency to have multiple programs open even if they aren't really doing anything at that moment such as widgets and web browsers.

Maybe I just am not seeing the benefits of a dual core on a phone, but I'd take the faster single processor with more RAM which the reviews have said the TB has.

the longer this phone is delayed and put back bc of whatever reasons that we do not know of the entire device is just becoming outdated as we sit here and wait for any news we can get. The longer this thing just sits there the more im looking forward to whats coming out in quarter 2 even if it is a longer wait then this phone.

It's been interesting (unsettling) to sift through all the pages here of mostly bad news about further bolt delays upon getting home tonight! Except for one guess-what's-behind-this-door screen shot from a BB visitor if I have that right? :)

Here's what I found out today from my own home base...my area BB's are all changing their tune and opting for the slightly safer in store date of..."all bets are off, we just don't know."

On a brighter note...my formerly on-the-fence and non-committing Verizon corp. store rep. checks with her manager as I listen on the phone and he says they will have them Thursday. (Yes, the 24th). So, I ask if I can show up at opening on Thursday to buy one and they say, "come on down!" Now, she did advise me to call there by closing today (Wednesday) to check that they actually arrived, and also cautioned that any of their sell dates are subject to change right up to the very last minute. And my own inner voice is also telling me to take this with a huge grain of salt like everything else in this even more huge fiasco. But I do enjoy an occasional bright spot in the dark shadow of all the delays! We'll see...

Otherwise...I'm getting kinda tired. In every HTC sense of the word, so to speak.

I agree. I mean how can Verizon advertise a phone and not know a release date? And doesn't every other major carrier have a 4G phone? Why is Verizon so slow with the phones?

I think it should be the other way around. More processing cores will be better in the long run. More ram is always good but andorid works in a way where you will never really run out of ram. Even the atrix 4g doesn't utilize all of its ram unless you boot with the laptop dock.

Then again you cant go wrong with thunderbolt running with a second gen single core and more ram that is totally utilized by the os.

I had my Thunderbolt on PreOrder since the first day at Best Buy. I just found out that BB doesn't recognize my upgrade till August, yet on the VZW website it shows that I can upgrade at a discount price.

Does anyone know of a work around for this with BB? I would rather go through them at this point since I now have $100 in gift cards.

To be fair, LTE is the only tech that has the capability of being truly 4G. WiMax and HPSA+ are really 3.5G and won't meet the requirements of the ITU to be true 4G. ATT won't be LTE till next year and Spirint is looking to switch from WiMax soon. That actually puts Verizon ahead of the game.

The more ram the better! The PS3 and XBOX 360 run on 512 ram, and I would call those pretty zippy wouldn't you say? And the Thunderbolt you can put in your pocket.

i might be late but verizon posted this on there facebook page

"Verizon Wireless Hey guys! We know you are all ready for the Thunderbolt! So are we! It's not easy to release this phone like the "others" make it seem. The 4G network we use is totally different. The 4G we use is called LTE. It is the MOST advanced type of 4G out there and offers faster speeds then any network can offer. The phone wil...l be out this month, we just want to make sure it is perfect before we release it. Because we are dealing with a new network AND new phone hardware, things are going to happen. We are lucky to have something so advanced out on the market so fast (if anyone remembers how it was when 3G came about). We don't want to release a date and then move it. We never had a date set in stone, unlike some of the Blog Pages have posted. Trust us, when it is released you will say it was well worth the wait! We were also hoping to release new 4G markets with this phone. Hope you understand how hard it is and it is not easy to just put a date out there. Thanks you your support!"

And it was found to be a fake account.

I just saw a commercial for Best Buys Buy Back Program and it clearly stated that the Buy Back Program was FREE for all Mobile Phones.
