[Sprint] Premier Gold Yearly Upgrades

it is an option.. to get some of the cost back..

there is craigslist.. with no extra cost..if you do it local.. which I only do.

What he said. It'll at least help. We have an expensive hobby/interest, so you're going to have to expect to pay something :)

Well, I was expecting it to even out... based on the terms of the Sprint Premier plan. I am sure quite a few EVO owners thought the same thing.

april 1 is for new contracts.. they have 2-yr-upgrade.
all current customers have 1 more 1-yr-upgrade! after you use that last upgarde.. you revert to 2-yr-upgrade path.

So if I read this correctly....
if you have an upgrade due before april 1 and/or sitting on your current upgrade...
If you use it before April 1.. you will get one more 1-yr-upgrade!

here is me guessing:
legally...I dont think they can take away an upgrade that you EARNED.
Get a lot of trouble for that!

It isn't in your contract that you get a one year upgrade. They are not changing your contract so you can't get out of it because of this. You earned nothing. It was a perk you got. They are changing that. Crappy for a lot of people? Yes. But they can do it at their will.

Yep, lots of changes at Sprint. More expensive plans, less discounts, and broken promises.

So leave already. If this were a boyfriend would you have stayed with him this long since he'd lied to you and deceived you so? Who are you trying to convince...us or yourself?

The problem is; The perk was advertised as a perk, when a lot of people bought their EVOs. Waiting for people to sign up, then removing the perk before people can use it.... sounds a lot like bait and switch.

This reminds me of a Billiard place near me. They advertise... buy a table from us, and 3 years later, you can get the full value of your table towards a new table. Problem is, they close every 1-2 years, and open under new management.

...and there she goes again...

Stalking...ummm...ok...

It wasn't advertised as a perk just for the EVO. It has been a perk for a while now. At the time it was a perk so they could advertise it. Now it is not going to be that way so they can't. It would only be a bait and switch type of situation if they were still advertising it knowing full well that it is changing April 1st. I have used a few 1 year upgrades and it is nice. Granted I will still be able to because I am gold because of how much I pay. I do fully agree that it sucks. I also know that it can be changed at any time because it is not in my contract. I buy most of my phones full retail though. I have to when I am buying a new one every 2-4 months.

Yes, but it was advertised when the EVO was released. The EVO's release was the FIRST quarter in 5 years that Sprint had a gain in post paid customers.

IMO, it really sucks that they teased a lot of EVO owners, with this. And they wont even let us use it ONE time. Even Verizon had the decency to let people use their New every Two, one last time.

I agree that it sucks. But it is not in the contract so they can change it. Plus there is still 1 year upgrades. You just have to be gold status. I think it is better this way because then not everyone whos been with them more than 6 months can get the 1 year. Which for me means less of a line this summer. ;)

Haha, and you don't have to complain so much. That and a dollar will get you a cup of coffee...unless you go to Starbuck's :D

Mmmmm. Starbucks! :D

There may be a line.... of angry customers, who were lured to Sprint with the EVO, and the promise of annual upgrades. I honestly cant believe that Sprint wouldnt honor the upgrade one last time. Even Verizon let people use the new every two, one last time.

Hopefully, they have a gold line for you though.:)

Well if there is a line of angry people I will just order online. I am sure I will be paying full price anyways. I usually do.

I don't think Sprint is worried about Legal issues.
They lure me into switching 2 AT&T iPhones for 2 EVO's on Sprint in June 2010.
Good rates plus, more importantly, being able to do 1 year upgrades was the lure.
Now, this is what most refer to as 'Bait & Switch'.
One upgrade and they change the ballgame, or serve out the entire 2 years and switch back to AT&T. Not what I call Fair Practices.
And, I'm sure there are others in this same situation.
AT&T would have Grandfathered all current customers. I know as I was with them for many years.

Feel your pain, bro. And you're on the Hero?! I would hate to be stuck with it for 2 years! 1 year was enough, for me.
