Best Buy Details

This phone should be renamed from Thunderbolt to Myth. That's all it has been surrounding it for the past 2 to 3 weeks. I swear we could probably get better info what lies in Area 51 than getting this phone's release date. :mad:
 
long long long time lurker, first time poster. BB just called me (broadway N of houstion in NYC) to let me know that the phoen is NOT coming tomorrow. "we've been told some time next week but we were also told that last week"

Have yet to receive a call as well - then again my store told me in person that they will call when they have it - so to be fair to them they are doing what they said they would do.
 
Hey Jay...

Just curious, man - how is it even possible to check inventory at every BB in the country? Tell you what, you have this whole multi-tasking thing nailed down! :)

When you get the results, let us know...our cars/chartered buses/private jets are warming up now. :D
 
I spoke to the Verizon guy today over the phone (he gave me his cell number), he said no shipment. He said he may get it on Saturday so now I am going to call him back on Saturday. Looks like 24th is almost out of reach. Hopefully 28th it is.

Reminder from my earlier post just to help out - I spoke with BB supervisor today at corporate # - if you have preordered before the buy back runs out like I did on Feb. 6...and the phone release comes after expiration...they will honor the free buy back. They absolutely have this as a done deal in my case which suggests that if you are in this situation as well and take comparable action, you should get the same results. Hope I'm not thinking too logically through this mess. :)

I called the 800# and was transferred to the geek squad. I asked if the buyback promo will be honored beyond the 26th for preorders and, if not, whether they will allow a return of the giftcard preorder since I went through BB for the free promo and otherwise can order through VZW. I said I don't care when the phone comes out so much as whether they will honor the promo. The rep put me on hold and said her and her boss agree that it should be honored and that I should go to the store and have the store manager (no one below them) sign something that it will be honored. This seemed odd to me so I asked what I should do if they say they won't do it. I asked if I could just buy the buy back get a giftcard for the cost of the buy back since her boss said the store manager should honor it but they couldn't enforce it. The rep said they couldn't do that and that she'd call the store. I was place on hold. The rep came back with "good news" that the mobile manager would try to "work with me" and if he couldn't do the promo he would allow a refund. I told the rep that doesn't really make sense since I had told her I wanted to know whether to cancel my preorder within the return period and eventually go through VZW and that the mobile manager wouldn't know if he could honor it until I was in the store buying the phone. She had an epiphany moment and agreed with me. She put me on hold bc she recommended I spoke to customer relations. The same rep came back and said to go to the store and have the mobile manager do a refund on my preorder and re-ring with the free promo attached. I clarified that I wasn't looking for trouble and that it's just easier to make a phone call than to drive to the store and ask a question. I'm off to the store to see what happens (since customer relations hasn't been in touch with the store) and will report back. This is awkward.

Thanks for the info rocky! I talked to my BB guy who said the buy back program would be 60 dollars if the phones release falls after the 28th. I asked if he could do anything since i pre-ordered on the 7th and he said no. He did tell me if you get the BB security plan or insurance plan or whatever that the buy back would be 50% off so only 30 bucks. I had been hearing 70 bucks for the program but he even had literature in store that said 60.

Either way, I will definately be calling corporate because I dont have 70, 60, or 30 dollars to piss away.

Absolutely rediculous.

i think im almost done with the thunderbolt, my interest has turn from good to bad to now i just dont give a damn. i can say one thing for sure apple has a plan together and they get what they want, even if the sales are low. Apple is also adding insult to injury by naming a product of theirs the thunderbolt. lol
we can all hate on the iphone all day long but atleast they dont play games like these fools
