great, now they are admitting to intentionally keeping us in the dark on the subject.
it seems to me that our definition of "news" varies greatly from theirs. a target release is "news", a delay is "news", heck even acknowledging that a release date is not in sight or that a delay has NOT occurred is "news". just give us something Verizon, PLEASE!!

Maybe if they spent some time on the Thunderbolt instead of moving on to other topics they might actually get it released.

just went to vzw store and a bb and here's what they said:
vzw: guy said (with confidence) that they will start selling tomorrow. told me that an htc rep had been in the store earlier showing the staff the thunderbolt and that he was sure that the date's the 24th
bb: the guy had no idea when it would come out, checked the staff newsletter and there was no sign of htc thunderbolt at all. he took my number and said theyll call me the minute it's in stock. (great service at bb!)
anyway i'm really skeptical about what the verizon salesman said although there was a fedex truck right outside the store....wishful thinking i suppose

OMG! Verizons Twitter account blocked me! Someone posted a retweet and I couldn't figure out why I didn't see it in my timeline. I go to their profile and see that I am not following them, so I click on follow. Up pops a screen (I'm on my phone) that says "Could not follow user: You have been blocked from following this account at the request of the user." I only replied to them twice, and neither of them were rude or unsavory. The AUDACITY!

i guess we will all find out tomorrow if anythings true or not. i really dont think its being released tomorrow though

I know this is my first post so take what I say with a grain of salt. But to kind of add to whomever said that they were called by the North Fayette, PA BB store, I work at a nearby store and spoke with my mobile manager (who knows I'm excited for this phone) and she said that the phone was delayed again. They were operating under the 28th release date, so it's looking like the first week of March at least. I like jay here will be able to check back in often and give you guys what info I know.

I wasn't rude at all, at least not in that sense. I said If I wanted to hear about the Xoom, I would have signed up for updates. And the other one said How is it that you have 4G but no phone to run on it. That was it. I'm sure to a very sensitive person that was rude, maybe it was and I just don't see it. Whatever.
I'm not blocked *yet* but I replied to the XOOM by simply saying
"Whatever dude. #Thunderbolt"
Nothing really crazy but I think the sentiment was same as you.

I went into a BB after work today (Downtown Boston MA) and asked some questions of the two mobile guys (sale rep and manager).
I asked if they were still accepting POs and the sales rep said he wasn't sure. But that they couldn't offer the buyback for free because the phone won't be out in time. The sales rep said that they only took about 12 POs so far. For comparison he indicated that they received about 50 iPhones when the iPhone recently launched and they had plenty of iPhones left over after on launch day.
Then it was like he was giving me too much info and the manager came over. He said that they were still accepting POs, didn't know when the phone will be released and it keeps getting pushed back, and they didn't physically have the phones or even a dummy unit. Then he said that if I did a PO at this stage in the game, they couldn't promise that I would get one on launch day.
It was just really odd, not like I expected my little visit to shed any light though.
Jay, I know you've checked stock of practically every BB in the nation, but I would still be interested to see the weekly ad if you can get your hands on one. Much appreciated, all the recon you've done so far!

i was too mostly call the TB vaporware and telling them how their communication with there customers on this is terrible. did ask them about a 1 year contract on the ip4 and they told me full price so i went after them about that. lol but im not blocked lol

I got a call from BB today while at work and they totally ruined my day wit the news that my preordered Thunderbolt will not be available tomarrow for pick up and that they dont have a release date and not to waste a trip to the store...i was havn a decent day up till that point! way to shoot me down!
A point about those that have been saying the march dates ...
ALl that I recall is that they have been pointing to (sorry for pronouns but dont recall who said it) March since the beginning (in January or so) and then call out this tech issue or that tech issue as reasons for the delay and then saying that they were right about the date from the get go.
Well if that was to be the date from the start, why would "delays" in present time be the reason and not just the fact that no one had a date and mid march or whenever was the planned release as stated??
I believe the same person was quoted as saying hand-off issues 3g-LTE and then billing issues etc keeping it from launching. Cant claim to have known those issues would be in effect now from January.
Hope that makes sense - still working and all this stuff is messing with my head.

This is just all too ridiculous. I still don't understand why they won't just say SOMETHING. ANYTHING. I mean, why would it be so hard to inform some obviously vicious customers. All we want to know is when we can have it. I's not even about getting it soon anymore, it' about "when" and some of us are feeling like it is an "if" at this point. VZW is shooting themselves in the foot.
