Best Buy Details

well i hope you got that in writing because the company sent out a massive memo to employees that the buyback can not be added on or on a different receipt than the actual product. The way it looks like now you got a buyback for a 50 dollar product just saying

yea well i can scan any black tie or buy back sku and ring a different products sku. If you look at your buy back it has your GSBTP number which identifies you as the customer and the plan, and then the SKU is underneath that. The sku is the product in question that is how they can tell which product is protected or in the buy back program. The SKU on your receipt is the same SKU as the pre order. IT IS NOT the same sku as the phone itself hence why i said you got the buy back for the presell. Now when you go back in 6 months and enter your GSBTP number in it is going to spit out the $50 presell sku. And then I'm sure after that's entered your going to be wishing a thunderbolt struck the person that told you that you had buyback for the phone

@VerizonWirelessVerizon Wireless

We share excitement about the HTC Thunderbolt! When there's actual news, you'll get it here. Until then, on to other topics.

My replies:
@VerizonWireless You don't get frustration with lack of info re: Thunderbolt. VZW and BestBuy employees promising false release dates.

@VerizonWireless U announced iPhone 30 days in advance. Why can't you do the same with a firm date for the Thunderbolt? Help your customers!

@VerizonWireless A statement from BigRed with a release date would make a lot of people happy (even if it was late March).

We'll see if I get blocked, but I thought their tweet was just plain rude.

No not really, when I pick up the phone they will be honoring what they have given me in writing on their receipt. I'm not really the type of person that takes no for an answer when something is put in writing.

As an example Best Buy is sending me a $50.00 gift card due to the ad they ran about the Thunderbolt and then not having it.

Jeeze, Verizon is really acting like a twit in twitter. What douch-bags. "How DARE you ask about a product we've been blasting non-stop on TV!!!"

Verizon has their head up their arse. It took those idiots 4 friggin' years to get the iphone. And when they did, they got the one that's been on sale for 7 months! Thats minor league. My boss tells me to get something done and it takes me four years, I get fired.

Hey All. I’ve been following this thread and you guys and girls have been great with all the info and updates. I do have a question on this whole "release date". Has anyone questioned the report that "etched in stone" the release date for the tbolt by BGR? Isn't that where this whole Feb release date craziness started?

It is a legit BB, Roseville is a suburb of Minneapolis (which is also home to BB world headquarters, so maybe they know something)
On thing they don't know is how to read a calendar. They said Thursday, March 4th. March 4th is Friday.

If your going to have it signed it better be the general manager and good luck getting that person to sign the receipt. I'm just trying to keep you informed of what I see and making sure that you don't get a fast one pulled on you

Mine was:
@VerizonWireless WE pay YOU. Pretty sure that gives US the right to pick the topic. Unless of course you let us out of our contracts...

No problem, but I do know that a few others on here checked there receipt and none had the Buy Back added on it.

In addition I'm paying FULL price ($749.99) so if they do try to pull a fast one I will walk across the street to the Verizon store and give my money to them.

Ok so I will be driving across the street.

Hey, if you got a TB pre-order Gift card and you decide to buy the TB from VZW, can you use the Gift card on something else in BBY?

-Frank

if your paying full price then thats a different story. what they more than likely will do is take the price of the buyback off the phone, so lets say 70. so the price of the phone on the reciept will be 679.99. That is the price they will rate the 50/40/30/20% credit. They are not allowed by law to zero out the price of the buyback or any extended warranties.

yea the gift card has nothing to do with your pre order. i already used mine. You just gotta pay the full price for the phone. You are just buying a giftcard to reserve your phone.
