For anyone who is using Advanced Task Killer. Should we not see higher memory amounts available after this update? Since 2.2 supports more memory and this phone has 512MB

You won't be able to. BT voice dialing is available in 2.2.1 version of Android, which this isn't. The update we got is 2.2

Oh cool..then I can go back to being impatient for an upgrade to get the single feature I wanted and was promised by unknowing salespeople back in September. w00t!

Interesting note I came across. All of my apps are available in the phone but not all of them show up under "my apps" in the android market, only about 20 of them out of 134 are shown.

Yeah, that's a feature I was looking foreward too as well. I guess Paragon is always an option.

Try restarting the phone. Mine showed 0 apps in downloads right after the upgrade. After I restarted, they all came back.

^I'll do that when I'm done updating everything, I haven't used the update button in a month and it shows...

I asked the same thing a page back. We DO have 512 RAM right? That's one of the main reasons I bought the phone, because the phone I had before it suffered from too little RAM...

I fixed the URL, I don't think it was intentional.

Opps and THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR CATCHING THAT; that link should have taken you to the AT&T facebook page. That is what I get for posting from my phone. Sorry to anyone that I sent to the wrong page.

So I updated via Kies Mini, and the phone restarted itself, and then the screen went black. The phone is on, when I called it vibrated, but nothing on screen. Is it bricked?

From what I understand, the Cappy has 512 MB of shared RAM. A part of the RAM is devoted to the gpu (I'm guessing 128 MB) so it makes sense that you only see something like 330

Mine failed to update. It told me to go into recovery mode. Now my phone has the yellow droid sign and it says Downloading.... It's been on that screen for like 15 minutes. I don't know if it's stuck or what?

I am sort of stuck on the yellow screen as well, after doing the hold down both volume buttons and insert USB cable step. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure on that, but I just noticed that with the update I was running at 1000mhz, and since I just rooted I am now running at 800mhz, according to quadrant standard. My score dropped a little bit too.

Wait a bit more just to be safe, the first reboot can take a while, but if nothing happens try pulling the battery.

Yes, the phone does have 512MB. Maybe it's the ATK that's just not showing the correct amount.

I let it sit there for probably 20 minutes. I tried calling my phone to see if it was even on. It didn't ring, but it started to intermittently vibrate for about a second or so. I pulled the battery, turned it back on. Got past the AT&T screen, the 3G screen, and then the Galaxy S splash screen, and then the screen turns black. I know its on, because of the intermittent vibration.

Tried plugging back into Kies, and Kies doesn't recognize it.

I'm guessing since I got the phone on launch day, that AT&T will just tell me I'm SOL.

Okay so I'm readin through the thread with some people saying they've already updated and I wanted to know if anyone did this OTA? Just recently my phone started laggined very badly, I'm going to actually post the issues in an appropriate thread to see if there's a fix. But if the update is available OTA that may help? Or maybe not. I heard OTA is not advised so that's why I'm asking first.

No, the phone has a 1 year warranty, and it was bricked on an update, so if they give you a hard time then you need to find a way to speak to someone higher up. Give them a call and see if they can help you.

I haven't gone outside yet but my GPS was able to lock indoors. That's good considering it never used to be able to lock outdoors unless the sky was perfectly clear, so before if it was overcast or even partly cloudy I would get spotty GPS accuracy at best.

Also another interesting note, at least for me it appears the battery is not draining like it used to. I've been using the phone for about 25 minutes now and including three reboots I've only lost 5% on the battery. That's much better than my previous when I used to lose as much as 1% every minute.

so youre saying that your phone battery doesnt even last 2 hours usually? id probably do something about that if i were you

under heavy use such as a 3d game yes. Although now it's much better.

Under normal (moderate) use, I can get about 22 hours out of the battery.

I am what you consider a power user. I use power hungry apps and use the phone for HD video playback at full brightness all the time :P

having same issue.. phone went into Recovery Mode during the upgrade by itself (screen with yellow caution sign and Android Construction worker dude)... phone never really comes up.. gets to home screen, goes black and starts all over... DAMMIT!)
