Best Buy Details

Just got off the phone with the store manager at BB in Mtn View, CA (near San Francisco). He said the TB would not be available on 2/28. Verizon was telling them the TB would be available in the 1st 2 weeks in March. He did not have a more specific date. He is going to call the rest of the people on the pre-paid deposit list tomorrow, but since I called him today, he told me. He also said the price was $249.99, not $275 or $299.

He did confirm that the free Buy Back program expires on 2/26 and they would not honor it for the TB (if it had come out on 2/28). HOWEVER, he did say they would have more promotions about the Buy Back program in March, so stay tuned.

I also saw that the Droid Bionic is supposed to be launched on 3/23. So this could be a hot promotion month. I'm naturally disappointed, but what can you do? (Collective sigh from the audience...)

I agree with another poster when they said the Seidio was of better quality. The one I have for my Incredible is just cheap looking/feeling, but this one looks niiiice! They have a few different styles to choose from, so I might get another color from them. There is also a code you can use to save 10% off your order.
 
was on the phone with a verizon rep today to switch numbers on one of our phones. took the opportunity to ask "when will your first 4g phone be released?". really just to see if he knew what i was talking about or if i could pull any info out of him. the guy stumbled over some umms and then said "...the thunderbolt will be our first 4g phone and it should be coming out soon. i have no release date at this time, though".

that's the response i expected. can't blame vzw for a delay when they haven't released a date yet. they're still within the q1 estimate. hopefully sooner than later though.

well the (only) positive of it getting pushed back until march and buying at bb = you'll be able to take it back for the bionic if they have it and you want to try it lol
 
its one of those things everyone wants to have the answer, and the fact is no one has the answer right now that is willing / able to share. Jayishere is correct, we shall see if they come i today or tomorrow
 
I called VZW about a different question today and since I was on the phone with them, I asked when the TB would be available to order. She put me on hold and came back with, "It is available at Best Buy right now, but we don't have a date when it will be available from Verizon." I made my best effort not to snicker at her response, thanked her politely and hung up.

Seriously? VZW's phone sales reps are saying it is for sale at Best Buy? I'm not sure which part of that conversation was worse! Nice lady, just totally clueless.
 
I'd imagine if we're doing a 2-28 launch, we'd see it saturday or monday... If we're doing 3-3, we'd see it then or 3-2...

She put you on hold, asked her neighbor who did a quick Google search and saw "Thunderbolt, Best Buy, $249." :D

I really want the 'Bolt, but my Eris is getting old and I've been waiting for it since the first Mecha rumors. I've had a NE2 since Dec. and I'm just getting tired of all this B.S.
Besides, like someone said, I might be dust by the time this thing is released.

How was your NE2 up in Dec with the Eris? Didn't they come out in November last year. I too have the Eris, and it states that my NE2 is in August, but I can upgrade with a discount.

And this is why people are mad. It's one thing to be vague and give some misinformation, particularly from a third party like BB but when your own sales reps have something as wrong as that there's a serious issue.
 
I got the Seidio Innocase in Amethyst, and I'm thinking about the Burgundy one. Otterbox cases are just to bulky for me, even the commuter case felt heavy.

Do you have the 10% code? Those of you have experience with Seidio do you recommend the Surface or the Active X
 
black man x sure has said alot about the t-bolt today on twitter.... saying its just network issues holdin it back because verizon moved half of their network people to work on 3g to handle the iphone release.
He did say there is still a chance for thunderbolt in feb. tho, but said he's still leaning to mid-march. We need to figure out what "if we can keep the unicorns in the box" means..... thats the issue apparently. I dont speak network or fairy tale so no clue.
