Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

Hi,

I don't know if it's just my phone but every so often the browser gets stuck while loading and web page and I have to reboot the phone before web pages will load correctly. Also any idea when the next update will be released.

I have a problem with this..
people cant hear me during calls..
I can hear them, but they cant hear me :/
Any fix for this?

It does it whenever i exit from an app back to homescreen still.

Try this,

Go to Settings> CyanogenMod Settings> Performance> VM Heap Size, it will be on 24 change it to 32 and reboot your phone and see if it still happens.

Cheers Lee

it still happens O_O

Ok i've got a couple of other things to try, have you tried to overclock a bit more? To do this go to Settings> CyanogenMod Settings> Performance> CPU Settings and set the maximum cpu useage up to at least 768Mhz and the go to Settings> CyanogenMod Settings> Performance> Compache Ram Usage and set it to 28%. Also go to Settings> CyanogenMod Settings> Performance> and ensure that Enable surface dithering is un-checked i.e no tick in the box. Make sure you reboot your phone after you have done all these things and the try it.

Let me know how it goes.

Yeah, i downloaded launcher pro to try and i found when exiting angry birds it only had to redraw the widgets some times, the trouble is with our phones is the low amount of RAM, the only way of completely fixing this is to make sure you kill programs completely other wise they run in the background and use up RAM whih means things like launcher pro which need a lot of RAM cant work quickly, try going to Seetings> Apllications> Manage application> running applications and try force closing any apps that are not needed then try playing angry birds and going back to the home screen you should notice it is ok.

EDIT: Also check that launcher pro is installed to the phone and not the SD Card.

Hi all..
This is my first post here (i think) although I'm reading, checking these threads for months :D

I had cyanogenMod 7 version 1.3 for about a week, and had some problems with it..
about 3 days ago, I installed ver 1.4 and I found it lot more flexible, faster almost perfect.. but I've been so busy these days I haven't even changed my phone ringtone :D and now I've tried and it seems that I can only use Android system ringtones... I can't choose from other source  ..phone memory/sd card mp3's.. Anyone have such problem?

I guess some tweaks in system files will solve the problem? Any help appreciated!

Thanks

To set a ringtone from the SD Card, copy the tone you want to set to /sdcard/media/audio/ringtones and you should be able to select it as a ringtone as long as it's an .mp3. The same works for notification tones and alarm tones :D

Strangely enough I didn't have folder ringtones in /sdcard/media/audio :D
I created it now.. but, nothing changed...

In Settings>Sound>Incoming calls-phone ringtone/

it gives me only Silent, Andromeda(first) ... going alphabetic.. World(last) ringtones...

no option to select from where to look for a ringtone :\

Okay try this:

(Kind of) automatic instructions:
1. Put the mp3 you want to use as your ringtone onto your computer

2. Go to www.media.io and upload the mp3 file

3. Select the format as .ogg and the quality to high (192kbits/sec)

4. Convert it, download it, and copy it to C:\Android

5. Connect the phone to the computer and enable USB Debugging (Settings>Applications>Development>USB Debugging)

6. Open cmd and type
Code:
cd C:\Android

7. Now type
Code:
adb push <name of song>.ogg /system/media/audio/ringtones/<name of song>.ogg

For example, if I had ringtone342.ogg on my computer, the code would be
Code:
adb push ringtone342.ogg /system/media/audio/ringtones/ringtone342.ogg

8. Select the ringtone as normal :D

Manual instructions
1. Put the mp3 you want to use as your ringtone onto your computer

2. Go to www.media.io and upload the mp3 file

3. Select the format as .ogg and the quality to high (192kbits/sec)

4. Convert it, download it, and transfer it to your phone

5. On your phone, open root explorer and copy the new .ogg file to /system/media/audio/ringtones

6. Select the ringtone as normal :D

Hope this helps! :D :D

thanks for all the help but it seems liike WidgetLocker was the problem all this time. I uninstalled it and all the redraw problems disappeared. i guess lock replacement apps take up ram?

Yes, I know... it was like that until I updated to ver 1.4 :D I don't want to re-flash it again thought :\ but I guess it would work then :D

Hi guys,

Just read on 4pda that maur4ik has got wired headsets working fine now, the update was supposed to be this weekend but he is waiting for a cyanogenmod fix to be done, so update will be soon.
