Yeah, I completely understand your point regarding investor relations, company image, etc. I can't argue with that. I suppose I was just letting out a bit of frustration. As someone has mentioned several pages back, reading VZW's dismissive attitude of stop complaining and "move on to other things" just rubbed me the wrong way.

Truthfully I'm fine with limited information while they get their ducks in a row. I just wish they'd do a better job of acknowledging our inquires or just not say anything at all until that official announcement, ya know? You can have honesty without full disclosure, and if they were doing that, people would be a lot less ticked off.

Nobody is blowing anything up anywhere. I am just taking what we have to work with and formulating an opinion or Hypothesis. I know nothing more than the next guy nor do I have anybody feeding me anything.

Someone in this thread mentioned earlier that, per the law, there is generally a reasonable level of expectation given for such cases. Meaning since it's highly unlikely that someone would confuse a cell phone with a I/O port, the name could still be used by both companies.
 
haven't seen this posted here yet, so i thought i'd share. i would say take it with a grain of salt, but i am pretty sure we've all got a 50 lb bag of the stuff at the moment. i honestly just want to post it for the effort he had to go through to get his point across, lol.

Today i got to Hold and play with a thunderbolt. Unbelievable. this thing is Really really fast. my Supervisor gave me a specific Date And told us the to start preparation for launch which includes lining up future projection sheets and sales Yield analysis for upper management. Much of what needs to be done is scheduled very very shortly before All launches. it's coming. this information is Relevant to all Customers waiting the thunderbolts' Hard launch date. though i am not allowed to Tell you Exactly when it's launching due to my job security, Need not worry, the thunderbolt is sure to capitalize its sales now that its perfected.

I'll add to the speculation, Best Buy style.


I was in my store today picking up a case for the camera I bought my fiance for her birthday. I was talking to my guy in mobile, who is also waiting for the phone and he dropped this, take it for whats its worth, not much probably.


We're expecting the phone to arrive late in the week, with a street date for 3/10.


So I dunno. maybe 3/3? probably 3/10
 
Just got back from best buy, was returning a 4G modem in the mobile department. As I am sitting there talking with the mobile agents some guy comes up asking about the TB they tell him there is not a set date yet but rumor has it its the 4th of march... the guy blows his lid saying this is "bull****, F*** you, I want my money back for my pre order deposit" the door man who usually checks receipts (security?) comes up calms the situtation down and the guy leaves... some people take a PHONE way to seriously, I was in awe.

LMFAO!! I would have loved to be there! But yeah those guys at the doors at my stores at least dont like to be messed with.

Yes, it is too much to ask. No Company will even show weakness (i.e. issues they are having with new hardware. All other competitors would jump all over it and use it to kill sales of the TB.

Verizon has stated Q1. That's all. They dont owe us anything more.

I don't think people take the phone too seriously, I think people don't like giving someone their money, especially for an extended period of time, with no physical item to show for it.

It's a psychological thing, you feel like you held up your end of the bargain by giving them $$$ and in our instant gratification society, people have a long time waiting any length of time for anything. So when weeks go by, you feel they are stringing you along...I mean they totally are, whether it is their fault or not. That get's people pissed off. Especially since most people feel their concerns and problems are dismissed due to the lack of any real information on this release.
 
I think I posted this before in this forum a few pages back, but to refresh...

The 'Thunderbolt' copyright with Apple/Intel is a non-issue. Copyright law is based on a 'reasonable expectation' standard which means there has to be a reasonable expectation that an average joe consumer would confuse the 2 products. Not Likely someone buying a MBP thinks it comes with a Verizon 4g LTE phone or vice versa. I could go create a Thunderbolt cola tomorrow and I'm not going to get served by Apple/Intel or HTC/Verizon.

Crossing my fingers for the 10th... I've had a preorder since the 6th at Best Buy and ready for this roller coaster to end!

Exactly. When I pre ordered on 2/15 and called every other day and they said 24th 100%. Well I was mad..
 
Well the way I took what bmx said yesterday, " it's not like it's coming out this week or anything" means its coming out this week. If it doesn't come out this week I will for sure never believe a word that guy says anymore. I don't care how many times he has been right, I look at it like if you aren't almost 100% sure about it then don't say anything. Don't get me wrong its nice to get info like this but when its wrong it just makes things worse.

wasn't that hope already lost?? maybe i'm just becoming jaded about the whole thing. when this all started, i was foaming at the mouth for every release date rumor. at this point, i could care less about them. it was fun for a few weeks, but i just can't keep hoping against hope that the next rumor will be the right one. i can say that if it is not out by the 10th, i am moving on. gotta set a cut off somewhere, the INC2 and bionic are getting more and more tempting every day.

I agree 100%. As much as I really want this phone, I need to be realistic. I would never fork over my money any other time, and call a month an acceptable delivery time. So if its not released or at least announced with a positive release date, I will probably move on as well.
