Wondering why i have installed 1.0 am using apps to sd majority of the apps are installed to card but yet phone says i only have 6 mb available and i dont even have anything close to number of apps i had installed when i had .4. Anyone throw any assistance my way or tell me what and how i can clean up unnecessary.
Made the move to update to froyo on my wifes phone last night. Was getting rid of the some of the bloatware, when i came across something called LGDunn Something that seems to run all the time in the background. Anyone know what this is, an is it safe for remove?
I had root. I can not install busybox because i am out of system storage? any ideas on how to fix it. Without any storage, i cant get root back. Am i Done? pls help on how to fix. linux code confuses me.
thanks
Dan
Well, the simplest way to gain more internal memory storage is to uninstall some apps. Use the Settings/Applications/Application Manager and its menu setting to sort by size so the biggest ones appear at the top. Remove a few of those and you should be good to go. You can re-install them later.
I think they are. But if installing something is your goal then uninstalling a few apps should make enough room to install the newly desired app. You'll need to clear a little more space than what is required for the new app. Personally I feel the app space LG gave us is a joke, and moving my apps to my SD card was the first reason I got into rooting the Ally.
So I went to xda dl SuperOneclicker 1.6.5(believe this is the most recent version of the program.)
I root my phone using this program, at first glance the phone look rooted but soon as I try to use setcpu or any other root program, the superuser program won't accept any of them, it wouldn't even pull up a notification window asking me to accept/disallow them.
Is there a way to fix it or manually get superuser to accept programs
using a lg ally
2.2.1
VS740MVD.6040.1001-baseband version
2.6.32.9 lg-electronics@balto #2-kernel version
FRG83D-Build Number
VS740ZVD-SW Version
also I tried both exploits in the superoneclick program and they both have the same effect
You can't overclock a stock kernel.
What apps can I use on a stock kernel? I'm guessing Titanium Back up won't work as well on a stock kernel.

When i reboot my rooted aria it is stuck on HTC quietly brilliant screen. How can i reboot my rooted htc aria
I tried Titanium Backup and superuser still won't accept it, Im guess Im going to have to install a custom rom or something.
ok, so i am able to get all the way up to $ but cant seem to get any farther... and keep getting this in the cmd display
/data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
[1] Killed /data/local/asroot2 /system/bin/sh
$
have tried changing from 0755 to 0777, mounting & unmounting, removing vs leaving in the sd card, heck even spinninng around counter clock wise while hopping on 1 leg... lol, and nutting.
have also tried universalandroot, superoneclick, z4root with out any luck either... although read on android central forums that superoneclick v1.6.3 worked for ally but not other, newer versions, so then spent hours trying to find the download and then just gave up....
is there anyone out there who has or is having the same problem as me? is there a solution? or should i just throw in the towel on trying to root my ally? any little thing would help.... thanks
