Root [GUIDE][LGNPST] Alternate V6 Restore Method [Updated 5-24-11]

Yes Ive done it as admin. Im running x64 Win7. I've also done a factory reset multiple times. Same result. It is version VS740ZVB and downloads an update. It installs the update and reboots then nothing changes.

Ok. Uninstall it with Revo (Free download) choose advanced mode or something like that so it completely removes it. then reboot the pc. after its reboot install everything in order. but when you install try to run those in compatability mode fro XP SP2 (right click choose properties) register the dll that it says to in the 1st post. reboot. then try.
 
Well I tried that...no luck still shows as unknown no matter even after your above advice.
It's weird I was worried about bricking the phone...that didn't happen, it still works, it's just stuck at VB740ZVB and won't upgrade or in the case of this thread and Tridents...it won't downgrade to start over either.
 
my ally went into a bootloop today and im trying to get it out of bootloop. i cant go into recovery and restore because i accidentally return it back to clockwork instead of Ramon. so what do i do now?

Savoxis posted a link. Flash back to amon ra, restore backup or wipe everything and if that still doesnt do it reflash

Ok. I have been trying this as well and the app only reads my phone as an unknown device. Now is that because my phone is stuck on the Verizon Wireless logo? It will not boot past that. This has been a pain and all my fault, but I guess that is what I get for not fully understanding stuff.
 
I am fine up until the point where LPNPST should be seeing my phone and it never recognizes with it and i am in debugging mode so i am not sure what the issue is, Can someone help?
 
someone help. i got to step 29 and then at 30 dial *228 and it says it cannot program successfully. i need help fast. i dont have a warranty on my phone and i dont want a fancy paper weight!!!!!!
 
Frankrafter: What OS are you running on your pc?

Trace2: Dial *#06* and give us the output. Like if its all zeroes or seems to match the number under your battery.
 
I gave this a shot... It removed my 2.1 Velocity 0.4 and gave me back what looks like a stock 2.1. I requested the updates as instructed, but I'm still sitting on firmware version 2.1-update1 and baseband vs740mv7.5210.1013.

I should point out, to be accurate, that I was unable to choose the *.TOT file in the bin selection area. No matter what i did, run as admin or normal user, I never saw an option to view other file types that *.BIN and changing the file name to *.* didn't yield any results, so I ultimately changed the filename from *.TOT to *.BIN and then selected the bin file and completed the update.

It doesn't appear to have done any damage to my phone, but I'm not on Froyo either.

As instructed yes. I followed the guide 1, 2, 3... etc. Is that what the factory reset was to do? I thought it would give me a "factory" or vanilla 2.2.1 since that is what was pushed.

Anyway... it doesn't matter now. Picking up at step 10 on Trident's guide didn't do anything for me. But after following these steps I was able to follow Trident's full guide and with this back to scratch version the LG Updater worked for me. I am now on Velocity 1.0.

I get archive is damaged or corrupted. Is anyone else having this issue? if not could you please repost it on a different host?
 
if you are unable to use lgnpst because debugged is not on or accessible. try this. factory reset lg ally. while phone is reseting Plug it to your computer. follow deathtoall's instructions. lgnpst will pick up phone while reseting. you only have a short time to do this. i hope this help someone out there. :)

Try plugging phone to computer while doing a factory reset LGNPST should pick it up. :)
