VZW releasing the Thunderbolt on the 10th doesn't look all that brilliant now... with all of the mobs crashing down store doors trying to get an iPad 2 starting on the 11th. I'm sure Apple had tipped off VZW management and coordinated the March 11th weekend iPad 2 release. If the TBolt is ready to go, it makes more sense to release it this coming weekend so the phone can have a whole week to itself before the iPad 2 hysteria.

Either way, I'm OVER this whole release date neurosis!

are you in for getting the thunderbolt as well or do you just like watching this trainwreck ?:p

Neither. :)

I'm on record in one of these threads - I believe my words were that if it weren't for superior Sprint coverage for me, I'd be on the ThunderBolt like yellow on a lemon, and rule one is choose your carrier.

Also, I've seen more than a few product launches from both sides, so I honestly empathize with those awaiting the Bolt.

I'm here because I'm first and foremost for Android - and the Bolt is a step forward for Android in the US. Second, as an AndroidForums.com mod, you cats are keeping staff jumping so I'm happy to pitch in where I can. Third, I'm an HTC and HTC Sense fan.

But I'm here for more than the armchair view or to cheerlead.

I love Android, I way love my Evo, I way earned my stripes with its initial problems. (uh - don't even ask about my Moment days)

My ulterior goal is to be able to cross-pollinate troubleshooting solutions here (if needed) based on my Evo, Evo Shift, Desire and Incredible forum work - and to then take away the new Bolt stuff I hope to learn here to other forums for when those cats get hardware or firmware upgrades.

So - like Red Green says - we're all in this together, and I'm pulling for you! ;)

gobluejd is on deck to get the Bolt, so he's _probably_ going to be the go-to mod around here, while a few of us fly wing for him.

I support the words of my fellow AndroidForums users because I've learned over time there's a reason we were the first and are still the biggest self-help forum. Cats around here tend to shoot it straight, so that's why I endorse rocky s.'s personal experiences over guys I don't know from elsewhere. Big ditto on that for jayishere and Black_man_x.

Between the Bolt unleashing and iPad coming, I'm just glad I don't have to work the floor at Best Buy!!!

I am crying. Nice post. Post the year actually. :)

I figure this is somewhere else and I did search for it, but are there benefits to buying at best buy vs. Verizon? I know the insurance plan at BB for $9.99 per month has no deductible vs. the $6.99 insurance plan at Verizon that has a decent sized deductible. I missed out on the BB buyback deal they had going on, so that's no longer a draw over Verizon. Thanks everyone and good luck tomorrow!

If they cant fix your phone they give you retail value of what it was. For example if your tbolt is non repairable they give you 749.99 (what it retails for in store) for a new phone and you do not renew your contract

Ugh Apple has ruined everything. Which do you think takes priority at Verizon a new iPad or another Android phone? We probably won't see the TB until the end of March now. No wonder Verizon has been silent.

Verizon is not handicapped, you cant compare an ipad2 to a android phone they can be simultaneously launched without any hesitation. Ipad2 is a tablet and thunderbolt is a phone so two can live well together. Launching ipad 2 has nothing to do with launching thunderbolt, if it was iphone we were talking about then I would understand the hesitation.

Another question I'm hoping someone knows the answer to. If I sign up for service at the Verizon store, my company gives us 22% off every month. However, when I was at best buy the other day, the guy I talked to didn't think I could get the deal at best buy. Is there a way to get that discount applied to my account if I buy at best buy?

Discounts have to be done at a corporate store. other retail locations cant do it. Trust me I work retail and we sell verizon and to get my discount I have to take my paystub to verizon corporate store.

They maybe different devices. But VZW corporate muscle (marking resources, personnel, customer service rep. training to answer all of the noobtard questions, etc. etc.) will end up being allocated more to the iPad 2 in order prevent customer from going over to get one at AT&T.

Alright thanks. I just didn't know if I could call Verizon or something after I got everything set up or stop by the Verizon store aftewords or anything and get it applied to my account. I hope there is some way around it because I'd prefer to buy at BB.

Well I guess. But I still dont think that ipad 2 has anything to do with thunderbolt being launched. It has been on advertisement enough and buzz has been around for a while. Like I said if it was iphone then I would understand, but thunderbolt has been delayed enough already for its own well being. seriously the dumbest person in the world can use an ipad, lol.

You absolutely can do that. I signed up at Best Buy, was unable to get the discount. I called Verizon and explained the situation after I signed up and they walked me through setting everything up, sent me an email with the link, and after I entered my work email and stuff the discount was added. The only thing I had to complain about was getting the activation fee waived - they eventually did it but it took a bit of coaxing lol (my company includes it to be waived but something in their documents showed it wasn't).

The only problem I have with some insurance plans is they tend to do the "can not duplicate" bullshit in order to avoid having to pay for your phone.

yea and it sucks when that happens but honestly sometimes they cant duplicate the problem which sucks. When i had the asurion or tec(sp?) i hated going into the store and talking to the flextronic guys about my phone. Their customer service was horrible and treated customer like they were idiots, they did not like it when i went in and told them what was wrong and y. I also hated the fact they sent me a refurbished phones. At least with this plan if i get a new phone instead of a refurbed even if it takes a month to get it

Hey jay slightly off topic but wanted to clarify something. I went in to BB today and bought the iphOne 4 while I am waiting for the TB come out. They told me I only had 14 days to exchange he phOne instead of the 30. Which should it be?

BB changed their policy recently and it is only 14 days instead of 30. It's in one of the many threads.

I DONT KNOW from what I was told you are locked in to your contract at 14 days but you still have 30 days to get another phone.

If that is not the case I will raise hell at best buy. Seriously that is straight lying in to your face if that is true.

Ok I am all confused now, 2 days ago other forum members were saying its 30 days and when I got my phone on the 21st I was told I have 30 days to exchange it but I will be locked in my contract after 14. So if that is not the case then It is pretty much a lie that I was told.
