Well folks I'm sad and kinda happy at the same time, moving on up to the shift. It has been a blast helping and being helped around here, all you hero guys are loyal compatriots. I will still lurk, and post on the rare occasion I can get a helpful word in between Mcat and Don.... See you guys around!:D
 
LOL, well enjoy your new Shift, it was a pleasure having you around and hope you will still peek in, and keep us posted on your new toys update. I assume sooner or later we will be joining but for now I am fine with the Hero, but I do get the urge when I play with my buddies Evo, just wish he would let me root it :D

Thanks 330D for all your help and guidance:D I wish you well and have fun with your new phone;)

Looks like nfinitefx just got his Shift yesterday, so if are going to root, looks like you may have familiar developer there. Have fun overclocking, if you go that route, I see people are reaching 1.8Ghz and stable:eek: Wow:cool:
 
Enjoy the slide out KB! I knew it was coming, when I bought my EVO 4g, but didn't want/need the slider. Still have 3 Heros in the immediate family. The Hero is a great little phone with even greater dev support. BTW, I was watching a recorded episode of Detroit 1-8-7 from just a few weeks ago on my DVR last night, and they were using Heros in several scenes!

If I'm going to root? Ha! The 1.8ghz stable kernal is what sold me! And that most are getting around 30hrs of battery life with minor usage, and some tweaking...

Sounded like rom manager and clockworkmod is now working with the shift?;)
 
Yeah, but it doesn't do nandroid backups.... just flashed it and tried. I guess that recoveries are kind of an issue right now with it. No problem really. It is good enough without a custom rom and kernal. At least for now...;)

I'm sure Koush will be on it soon enough, who uses nandroids anyways:D Wimax backup is a must, I have to give you that;)

Yup, I don't know a whole lot about the wimax backups, but everyone stresses the fact that they are a very big deal, so until it gets straightened out, I'm going to play it safe. And yeah, I'm sure he will get it squared away soon. he is pretty good at what he does...:D

Clockwork had troubles with not backing up wimax but it's fine now with the Evo. But I use Amon Ra 2.3 now and I've never had any troubles, so I hope there's not an issue

Clockwork got the recovery working ;) Does wimax keys and all. Made my life easy.
 
I haven't had any issues with clockwork recovery on my evo. I use 2.6.xx not 3.0xx that unrevoked comes with. I thought about switching to Amon_RA, but if it aint broke why fix it? plus all my nandroids were CW.

Anyway, not trying to hijack any threads :)

It ain't a new addiction... Just swapped my phone and I'm trying to get this one figured out ;) The recovery has ben an issue with the shift, and Koush fixed it with an update to Clockwork Mod. Now on to flashing a new rom! :D
