[ROM] aospCMod | AOSP 2.3.4 / CM7 (Gingerbread) [05/23/11]

Easier to log in from the PC and set it up, once you have it set up, you simply forward it with the number they give you and you are done. also make sure you download GoogleVoice, to use the Vmail feature to listen to your Vmails

Do I have to set up GV from a cpu first, or can only just do it from my phone?

I agree with DonB. I set mine up on my laptop.

After you set it up you can enable it from your computer as well. Just read the bottom of this link and it explains how: Google Voice . There is no need to call into your existing Sprint voicemail to forward it to your new Google Voice number, although that is always an option as well, of course.

It is simple, once you set up GV, *28 and the number GV provides will have you all set up and ready to go

It is great having options. I like options. ;)

I actually set it up the way you described for a friend since we were away from a computer. For my setup, I just used the web option to forward the calls to Google Voice. :D

When I set up a few Google Voice accounts for other people and myself, all I had to do was input the code using the handset when Google Voice calls to activate. You can still enable the call forwarding of the voicemail from the computer or via your handset.

Also, of course, you will need to install the Google Voice app on your handset too. You can optionally use the widgets as well.

I am using the 3/1 release and I assume it is the same for all the releases of this ROM. But I am having issues with the ringtones and notification tones. My list of tones and notifications consist of Silent, Spacious, and Teleport. That's it. When I go into system/media/audio/ringtones there are tons of them in there. But thy don't show up as options. Same with the notifications folder under system. Further, when I create my media/audio/ringtones folder on the SD card none of those show up when I try to change my ringtones either. I am using Launcherpro FWIW.

Any ideas?

Everything else runs perfect with this ROM. THanks all.

I was having the same issue along with serious lag. I re-downloaded ADW as suggested earlier and all the ringtones and notification tones showed up. Not sure about launcherpro.

So I upgraded to 2.3.3 with today's new build. This was my first time with 2.3x so I did the full wipe of everything. I used CWM 3.0.0.5 as well. Install went fine. Booted into recovery, did a Nandroid, wiped user data, cahce, and davlik. Then I tried to flash to LiquidSense1.1_signed.zip (which is really the 2.1 version but is named 1.1 for some reason). Link of DL is here: [ROM] LiquidSense 2.1 Stable|PngOpt|ZipAlgn|Odex|No Bloat - xda-developers

Anyway, when I tried to flash this ROM I get the following error.

Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5. It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClowckworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery, Please switch to Edify scripting (update=script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages. Installation aborted.

Any ideas?

I mean this is the latest version of CWM and LiquidSense. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks all.

I had issues with 3.0.0.5. I moved to RA1.6 and flashed LS, did my PRL update, then moved to CWM 2.5.0.7 to flash GB.

Kind of a pain. It seems many have had success flashing gb with RA1.6,

There was an issue with the 3/1 release for ringtones, download 3/2 and you will be good to go

Thanks Don. Now I have never done anything but a full wipe. What do I need to do to go from 3/1 release to 3/2? Can I just nandroid, wipe dalvik, cache and user data and flash 3/2 or is there more to it than that?

Boot into recovery, then nandroid backup, then wipe cache, then wipe davlik, then go to mounts and storage and format cache, then back out and flash 3/2 and then reboot, your good to go

Not to get off topic, but I have a question about google voice. I signed up for the voicemail feature only and was given an access number from google. No problems there. But there is a problem when someone calls my phone, then they are prompted to "enter the number you are trying to reach followed by #". Something along those lines. I do get the voicemail if one is given, but the extra step is annoying.

Is there a way I can set it up so people don't have to do that? It's kind of annoying, especially when people are calling from the contacts lists and don't know the number. Seems like I might have to get a gvoice number to get around this.

Thoughs?

Well that is weird, I have mine set up through GoogleVoice, so I am not sure, but did you set up a custom Voicemail message, and then also login from a PC to Googlevoice and check your settings, there might be something there that you have check marked that is causing that to happen

Yeah, I set up through googlevoice web and checked all the settings for a solution. After some reading it seems like it's a voicemail service only issue. If I add a voice calling it should go away. The problem is that I don't want another number. I'll keep messing around with it. Thanks.

A quick question about the 3/3 rom. i saw the might have added contrast/sharpness/other menus to the camera. Does this "fix" the washed out camera? And I know about the camera 360 option, but I like the native app.

FYI, setting another number is fine, peeps will not have to use that number to call you, you can still use your existing number for GV and set up the Vmail once logged in, so only you will know that number if ever you want to use it, it also good to have is there is someone you do not want to give your number to you can give them your GV number

Since were talking Google Voice a bit... When you forward to your GV number don't you lose your free cell to cell minutes? My understanding is that all GV connections are ground lines so they will count against your limited minutes. This is really the only thing holding me back from moving to GV
