Jazz had me on Skype. She talked to me through the whole thing! It's great to have someone there. She's way better than tech support! Any questions you have about flashing to the Icarus, Don't be afraid to ask. This forum is here for all of us. ^^.

Well, I was having trouble with my phone not be able to read my SD Card so I took it up to Cricket and they told they was going to have to replace the phone becuause it had a SD Card slot malfunction. So I now have a new Ascend.

But, I will be ready to root this weekend. I'm ready to take that plunge. Hope you guys can walk me through this clearly enough. Did anyone ever make a some sort of video or Youtube video of how to root? I think I seen one that was made when rooting a Metro phone but not a Cricket one. Is there any difference when rooting or could I go by that video?

Hi Cards! Glad to hear you got a new phone without a lot of hassle! :)

There are a couple of good youtubes but honestly it is SO easy to root by the instructions we have provided that you don't need a vid. But if it helps you by all means watch one. It doesn't really make any difference if you have Cricket or Metro when it comes to rooting. What DOES make a difference is what bloatware you remove and that is listed in the second and third posts. Good luck with it! Keep us posted! :)

PS...I bought a new Optimus V off ebay last night! It shipped out this morning. I'm so excited. :D

Going to be taking the "root plunge" tomorrow night. :)

Hope you guys/gals will be here at that time if I need any help. ;)

Also, what can I expect when I root? Faster phone? Quicker loading times? No lag on my phone? Just curious.
