I don't think you need to be rooted anymore since you don't have to "trick" the app into thinking you are using a different phone anymore.

When I search the Market from my phone, the Netflix app isn't included.

with CM7 installed Netflix shows up in the market and it works really good I was surprised as to how well it worked. Also I was able to install flash 10.3 but it would not start up when called. in my opinion there is no reason for adobe locking flash the way they do because it should run on the ascend with no problems the phone has no problems handling movies streamed through Netflix which I would think is more demanding than a lot of flash content out on the web.

Wow, I was surprised to see this pop up in my unread posts list! This thread was pretty popular when Jazziette was here, but pretty much died when she quit. I tried to get people to come here without much success, finally gave up. We used to have a sticky link to here in the Ascend guide, but when the forum got changed around, I think it fell through the cracks.
 
I have never seen this before either wth?! and back when I had my ascend I was pretty active with all things ascend...
