The Huawei Ascend VIP Lounge !!!

Well, if that's you saying it, ok, many thanks - if you think I think of myself that way, just dress me like Elton John as the Pinball Wizard and leave me to my laughter. :D

Some people are having success using the work-around for netflix on the Ascend. If you have rooted your Epic, you should be able to get it to work.

I was surprised when I saw the Netflix app in the Android Market and even more surprised that it wasn't compatible with the Samsung Epic 4G.

I think they are only testing it out on a few phones for now. I'm sure they will expand the official compatibility over time. If it works on the Ascend it should work on just about anything.

Hi, and welcome to the forums! This is mostly an off topic thread, but i'll try to answer your questions.
1. No, you can't overclock the cpu on the stock ROM. You will have to flash CM6 or 7 to do that.
2. Any of the custom ROMs (Icarus, CyanogenMod6 or 7) will let you move apps to the sd card. On the stock ROM, there is an app you can download from the market called link2sd that you can use. (you will have to partition the sd card).
You will have more luck getting phone help by posting in the Huawei Ascend section of the forum. This thread doesn't get much traffic anymore. Feel free to stop by and talk about whatever, though! Hope this helped.

The Reds swept the Cardinals over the weekend to move back into 1st place in the NL central, then beat the Cubs on Monday. They've won 4 in a row and 10 of the last 12. Go Red legs!

I am going to be patient and wait to see if the Epic will be compatible in the future. Rooting wasn't a problem with the Ascend due to its cost and month to month contract with Cricket. I would rather leave my Epic stock until internal phone storage is low. Right now I have plenty of space.

It would be nice to still have my Ascend as it picked up Cricket's faster 3G even after I ended service. I could probably be watching Netflix with it.

I think the flashing of ROMs is what messed up my phone's call reception since it was never an issue before that. Cricket had very good phone reception.

I don't blame you about the ROMs, but I would hate to not be able to use any root apps. Especially Ad Free. Pages load much faster without the giant banner ads on them. Also, Sprint seems like they put way too much bloatware on their phones I would want to get rid of. (I'm looking at you, NASCAR lol)

I finally got my Huawei Ascend! I rooted and just finished installing CM7 Mod! Any apps and tweaks you could recommend? (like the graphics booster to speed up the graphics processing?)

Anyone with a rooted Ascend streaming Netflix yet?
i don't have a Netflix account, but a lot of people are using it. Theres a whole thread about it on the forum. I think they removed the device restrictions so people can just try it and see if it works on their phone or not. Have you tried it on your Epic lately? I don't think you need to be rooted anymore since you don't have to "trick" the app into thinking you are using a different phone anymore.

Has anyone here tried CM7 for the Ascend?
Yes I have and it works but I'm reverting my phone back to 2.2.2 for one reason my battery does not last as long for some reason under CM7 plus there is a few bugs that pop up every once in a while but other than that it works great plus it will allow you to use some programs that you can't under 2.1 or 2.2.2 like Netflix works really good with CM7
just follow Playfulgods guide on how to install and you should have not problems.
