Anyone watch movies on their cell during a long flight or road trip?
Has anyone here tried CM7 for the Ascend?
Some people are having success using the work-around for netflix on the Ascend. If you have rooted your Epic, you should be able to get it to work.Anyone watch movies on their cell during a long flight or road trip?

I think they are only testing it out on a few phones for now. I'm sure they will expand the official compatibility over time. If it works on the Ascend it should work on just about anything.I was surprised when I saw the Netflix app in the Android Market and even more surprised that it wasn't compatible with the Samsung Epic 4G.
Hi, and welcome to the forums! This is mostly an off topic thread, but i'll try to answer your questions.hi everyone im new here,Got an android ascend for mothersday, almost gave it away but after reading a few posts on here I got it sucsessfully rooted (first try) Thanks so much!! anyway I haven't really put it down since.if anyone has time id like to know if i can mess with the cpu before changing the rom,and also is there an easy way to transfer stuff from enternal to the sd card? thanks again, and i love this group (or whatever its called)![]()

I don't blame you about the ROMs, but I would hate to not be able to use any root apps. Especially Ad Free. Pages load much faster without the giant banner ads on them. Also, Sprint seems like they put way too much bloatware on their phones I would want to get rid of. (I'm looking at you, NASCAR lol)I am going to be patient and wait to see if the Epic will be compatible in the future. Rooting wasn't a problem with the Ascend due to its cost and month to month contract with Cricket. I would rather leave my Epic stock until internal phone storage is low. Right now I have plenty of space.
It would be nice to still have my Ascend as it picked up Cricket's faster 3G even after I ended service. I could probably be watching Netflix with it.
I think the flashing of ROMs is what messed up my phone's call reception since it was never an issue before that. Cricket had very good phone reception.
Unless you changed Radio signal should be fine
Tho ROMs like CM use different systems for Radio interaction
So Icarus and CM7 weren't the reason for the poor phone reception?
i don't have a Netflix account, but a lot of people are using it. Theres a whole thread about it on the forum. I think they removed the device restrictions so people can just try it and see if it works on their phone or not. Have you tried it on your Epic lately? I don't think you need to be rooted anymore since you don't have to "trick" the app into thinking you are using a different phone anymore.Anyone with a rooted Ascend streaming Netflix yet?
Yes I have and it works but I'm reverting my phone back to 2.2.2 for one reason my battery does not last as long for some reason under CM7 plus there is a few bugs that pop up every once in a while but other than that it works great plus it will allow you to use some programs that you can't under 2.1 or 2.2.2 like Netflix works really good with CM7Has anyone here tried CM7 for the Ascend?
install CM7 and you can use netflix with no problems at allAnyone with a rooted Ascend streaming Netflix yet?
