Getting burned by the corrupted zip file has worn off. :o Thanks for you patience.

I just did this and I have Icarus 1.0 Cricket flashed onto my Cricket Ascend. The USB mounting is working and I was able to update my ebay description.

I would imagine the process of reverting to stock would wipe the phone already; changing the ROM without first doing a factory reset usually causes bootloops. It certainly wouldn't hurt to do one afterwards though.

I clicked on the grey button but I noticed that the file name did not match the one Jazz had listed. Could the name have changed due to an update?

They look the same to me. In Jazz's post she put the link, then the md5 sum and then the file name. Are you reading the md5 value rather than the file name?

I read the d97..and that is why it didn't look like it matched up. :o I didn't notice the M860...at the end. Now I can mention in the description that it can be flashed back to stock.

Two days left on the ebay bid. No bids but a lot of views.
 
Two hours left for bidding on my Ascend at ebay. Shocked that I didn't get one bid with all those views. :confused:

Edit: Didn't sell on ebay.
 
I'll give the Ascend another run on ebay. Cricket doesn't sell the Ascend for the low price that Metro does.

Really surprised a Cricket customer didn't pick it up ($40 cheaper, Icarus, and a free phone case).
 
Yeah, the people complaining about the price don't realize that cricket is more expensive. I would put it on Craigslist as well.

I decreased the price by $10 and relisted it on ebay.

I've never used and even looked on Craigslist so I will need to do some research.
 
It doesn't appear that Craigslist charges any fee for selling a cell phone. You meet up with the person and have them pay for the phone in cash.

I bought a car off of Craigslist, and looked at a few others. It's pretty much like answering a classified ad in the newspaper. You do have to be a little bit careful where you meet people. (i.e. If someone wants to buy your phone in a dark alley, thats a red flag lol)

Those who leave their phone number for the whole internet community to see is a little troubling.

Thanks for the tip because I could save myself some money rather than using ebay.
 
Didn't sell again on ebay for $90 with free shipping and a free phone cover. I give up on ebay. Going to see how it goes on Craigslist.

Good point. I have a friend with a droid x that didn't know to hold the screen off button to turn his phone off after owning the phone for 3 months. But that doesn't beat another friend with an iphone who didn't even know that the same button that turns the screen on turns it off so he was constantly pocket dialing his contact list.

Craigslist has turned out to be much better than ebay in regards to trying to sell a Huawei Ascend by Cricket. Got three potential buyers. Just waiting on the one that gave me the best offer.

Yeah, I was gonna warn you, don't be surprised if you have to deal with some BSers and no-shows before it sells. There are some odd people on CL. Selling things is always a PITA regardless. Don't take your ad down until you have money in hand, and don't promise to hold it for anybody. You'll get those "I get paid Friday, can you hold it for me?" people and never hear from them again.
