[RELEASED] The 4.3 inch "Thunderbolt" aka "Mecha" aka "Incredible HD" from HTC...beyond coming soon!

Nice!! Sounds good. Looks like I'm gonna go in today and do my 14 day thing since I can't wait any longer. (and also to start getting used to having a smart phone :) )

OT: Do you know if I have to return my phone to the same store as I get it from (Obviously within 14 days)? ***Same state, just different city***

Caveat emptor... I said the same thing 3 weeks ago...

How many times has this cat Bennnnnn stated a date confirmed. I'll take with a grain of salt. He has proven his self unreliable. Be careful with his conformation.

Folks, I am back-tracking and saying April now. Too little being said and the analyst meeting with VZW said nothing to suggest anything in March. In fact, if you read what was said, you would assume May is more likely.

My thoughts have been mid March for TB shipping. Seems I have a high chance of being even more wrong than normal.

Your timing is terribly ironic... and terribly conflicting.

How could anyone consider listening to Bennnnnnnnn? He said the same thing last week...

After reading these comments from the Q&A session with Credit Suisse, this phone is nowhere near a release date. They are sticking to a Q2 estimate... and to them that's a major achievement. If they even release this phone in the year 2011, Verizon will see it as reaching their goal.

VZW said:
"I guess our expectations changed, but we had said first half of this year at CES, and quite frankly, we think that exceeded people's expectations. A year ago, people didn't believe that there would be LTE smartphones in 2011. First half of the year is what we promised. First half of the year is still on track

but its BS

I watched the verizon thing at CES and im about 99% sure they said Q1 of 2011 not first half... i think first half was about the bionic not the thunderbolt

Yes, I see your point. I thought they said Q1 as well, but they also said "middle of the year" or first half during CES as well... This was a live answer to a question during a conference.

There is no way it will get pushed out past March. Just think about everything we have seen about this phone (ads, leaks, preorders, etc). If Best Buy starts publicly announcing that they are accepting returns or refunds for the preorders, then I will agree with anyone who says infinity after March.

I agree with you. But, hopefully this is less of a reality and not just 'wishful thinking' on our part. ;)

Of course it can... Verizon pulled their ads... have they been revived? Nope. Can Best Buy be the red headed step child that isn't in the loop? Yup. Can HTC be on their own with releasing their ads? Yup.

Not that I agree with what they're doing, but Verizon is doing smart business here. Keeping mum on everything, pulling their ads so as not to waste money... only they know when the phone will be released. The only thing they're liable for in regards to this phone is a comment made at CES.

BB jumped the gun and took preorders - bad move that will surely bite them in the ass - and HTC apparently doesn't care that it's marketing a phone that is nowhere to be seen.

I know that they have pulled the ads because the phone is taking them longer to push out. I get that. But even stuff direct from Verizon... I don't think they would have the Thunderbolt Tracker site up, recent events, thanks for waiting patiently tweets if it wasn't this month. They know people are starting to get angry and can't count on the people who have vouched for them saying, "THEY DIDN'T PROMISE ANYTHING!", because those people too will be pissed if it goes into next month. Bad idea for them all around and they know this.

They won't release the phone until its ready, up to their standards. If that doesn't happen this month, then we won't see it this month.
up too whos standards? cause htc has basically has already released the phone to verizon. so hardware and software wise it should be ready verizon is holding it for some reason.

this is pretty stupid. I mean all the testers have said that the phone is ready. All the previous reliable sources have said it is a go and was planned for release on the 10th. I mean I know they are not verizon but all the people that have been right in the past have been wrong so far. That tells you that verizon has their own reasons delaying the phone. I am pretty sure they are licking steve jobs balls until he says he is satisfied.

Bennnnn

I'm still here, just pretty swamped with work so I'll try to answer questions tomorrow.

I never said there was an announcement tomorrow, and frankly, I don't expect one till next week.

I got to play with a Thunderbolt for a couple minutes at work today. Let me tell you, this thing is as beautiful as it is fast.

Bennnnn

Now THIS is interesting....

EDIT: To my knowledge Thunderbolts are ready to go. This seems fishy to me. I was told the 17th recently, and BMX has also confirmed it.
