Can't answer for the OP, but one reason might be the speed rating. The TBolt comes with a Class 4 SD card at 4Mbps. a Class 6 card is 6Mbps and a Class 10 is 10Mbps. Speed can be one reason.

I've read that the TB forces all pictures to be saved on the SD card. This is on area where speed can really matter. Ever wonder why it takes to long after taking one pic before you can take the next? It's because it is writing the last pic to the disk. The faster the disk performs, the faster you can take the next pic.

I do agree however that you'd have to have a pretty specialized need to spend extra bucks to gain performance over the provided Class 4 SD card.

It looks like you need you own micro USB cable and cig lighter adaptor and I wonder with the connector on the bottom if the cable will fall out all the time?

The plug for the micro usb is in the back, not on the bottom. And it clicks in, this is exactly how it in on my Droid X car dock, and it has never come out.

If you get a car charger that just has a USB port and use the cable that came with the phone, that's not going to be a problem. The connectors on the HTC cables are very snug, not soft like on a Samsung (can't speak for Motorola, but if the DX is like the RAZR, then that one's fit is between the two mentioned in snugness).

Has anyone confirmed if the Thunderbolt can take advantage of the extra speed from a class 6 or a class 10 and how much faster it would be if it can? I've read that some devices such as the Original Droid have hardware limitations that don't allow it to take advantage of the faster cards, I read that a class 6 will be the same speed as a class 2 in regard to pictures and video, anyone have any info about this regarding the TB?
 
Just my opinion I think there would be solid information tomm if it was coming out this week and if not then I just don't think it will be this week or next but like i said just my opinion

And xoom had a week of pre orders

I agree. I think even if it was coming the week of the 24th we would still get an announcement tomorrow. You would think they want at least a weeks worth of press before launch.

This article basically says the fastest video cameras on the phones can only utilize Class 6 speeds, so a class 10 card in a T-Bolt is a waste...Unless of course the T-Bolt has some new video camera in it...

Yea just something solid would come out tommorow that would solidify the release date for this evice this week or next
