So I just got a new Xoom and I put on the Motorola Protective Gel Case for MOTOROLA XOOM Black (Motorola Retail Packaging), put it in the dock and it has the same problem - the screen is unresponsive in the dock (cradle). Now I knew it could not be two bad docks and two bad Xooms. So I took off the Motorola Protective Gel Case and voila, it started working. I find that I still need to have my fingers touching the back of the Xoom case when I touch the screen (I was doing this with the Gel as well), but at least I am able to use the Xoom while in the dock.
Does anyone have a Gel, hard case, or protective case that works with a dock? Do you also find that you have to touch the back of the Xoom chassis when touch the screen in order for the screen to work? Again, I have two docks and two Xooms side-by-side. I've used multiple power outlets, all reading approximately 120 VAC and the power brick is putting out 12.1 VDC, so I'm confident it is not a hardware issue. I'm a little frustrated.
Thanks.
