I just got my monthly txt message from MetroPCS. I am pissed because my bill has went from $95 a month to $104. The contract I signed states $95. My last month bill was $95.
I called MetroPCS and they start spewing about the additional things I have: insurance, backup, stuff like that. Well, ALL of that was included in the $95 I signed for, on the paperwork.
Talk about piss poor customer service. I kept asking, on the phone, why my bill has gone up and she kept telling me the same thing. She wouldn't even try to work with me to figure out the problem.

I love my Optimus M and don't really want to lose it, but... $104 a month for my wife's phone and my phone is NOT worth it. Her phone has not worked right since we got it. They have tried everything, next to replacing it, and it's still not working right (she refuses to let me root it though, which would fix the problem probably).

Sorry, I just had to let off a little rant. I am going to a corporate store tomorrow with all the paperwork I signed. I am not paying anything over what I signed up for. If they want $104, they'll get it by eating a phone, literally.

Those assholes increased my bill from 85 dollars a month to 92 dollars a month. I was going to call and complain, but my *611 was not working! I'll try again. Thanx for reminding me.

I am curious about a few things, you obviously have 2 smart phones, at $50 each however if they are under the same plan that goes to $45 each You have insurance on the phone, I think that is $6 per phone, though I am unsure of that that equals $102 per month Do you have by chance unlimited 411 or some other service that is not included in the unlimited $50? I ask because the guy at the store added 3 things to my account that I did not want nor ask for when I activated, I seen my bill was higher then I was told it would be and did some checking they added
metroguard, at $4 month metrobackup at $1 and unlimited directory assistance at $2 I called them and got those removed.

I'm trying desperately to find all the paperwork right now. But I looked at my last bill, paid by credit card... $95. Which is what my bill is "supposed" to be every month.

Yes 2 Optimus M phones, purchased at the same time. We got the insurance, metrobackup (piece of crap that is), metroguard, and directory assistance, ALL for $95. It was going to be $104 but I was able to save (supposedly) that $9 by putting my wife's phone on the same plan as mine, under the same name.
I wouldn't be upset about it if what I signed for was $104 a month, but that's not the case. I've pretty much ditched everything off my phone. If they can't give me a straight answer I might be in jail tomorrow for force feeding a phone to a MetroPCS supervisor.
I left another carrier for crap like this a while back. Every month the bill was higher.

I'm sorry but MetroPCS is decent except for customer service. I refuse to get screwed without being kissed first.

I too hate there customer(lack)service and there website is slow what a damn pain it is. I am having a difficult time understanding how your bill was $95 before then out of the blue upped to $104 unless it was a timed promotion which I dont know if metro does.
Also I think they charge each of those per phone, so your insurance is $6 per phone so $12 right there, that would net $102 then the metguard and back up would be added on that.
That is my understanding on it any way.

Well according to the math, it would be $50 and then $45 for the wife's phone which would indeed be $95 per month. The easiest way to see exactly what is in your plan or added to it is to login to your account at the website.

My plan changed when I bought my Optimus and I couldn't figure out why until I logged in and saw that I had Metro Backup@$2, 411@$1, Insurance @$4 and a few others for a $1 vor two that I can't think of off the top of my head.

My bill went from a straight $50 a month to something like $60 until I went in and removed those services(with the exception of the insurance due to my line of work).

My advice would be to not even deal with anyone at the store, because honestly most of them are F'ing clueless. They know how to sell phones and take your money if you want to pay your bill. It's easier to bypass them and remove the extra crap yourself to reduce your bill.

insanecrane is right, when i opened my account they stated that it would be $50 a month but they were going to add the metro backup, the directory assistance, and phone protection. it added up to $57, but i just went online and took off the extra services easily and it went back down to a flat $50

I just tried that and guess what. I can't edit my plan online. Says so right on the website. Let me quote exactly what it says.
We're sorry, but changes to Family Plans cannot be made online. Our friendly Customer Care representatives are available to assist you at any time. Simply call 1-888-8metro8 to get started.
I am having trouble finding the paperwork. I think it's in the wife's car and she is looking for it now. We're bad at filing paperwork. I'm calming down a little bit and am starting to come to the realization that I'm gonna get screwed by them no matter what. Even if I prove it with the paperwork, they'll come up with something else.

I logged on to my account to find the same crap, I attempted to remove them using the website but it was running so slow it timed out twice before they would remove so I called there contact number and just kept pushing 0 till I got a person, a little back ground I got 2 phones the m and the free lg imprint my bill was showing up as $96 and after I called them my bill showed as $75, still does.

I just looked. I do have, MetroGUARD at $4.00 a month, Unlimited Directory Assistance at $2.00 a month, MetroBACKUP at $1.00 a month, and that's it. $95 plus those equal $102, not $104. Where's the other $2 coming from? Somebody's lunch break?

But when I signed up that stuff was "supposed" to be included in the $95 total bill, not added to it. I mean, last month my bill was $95, this month it's $104. What's it gonna be next month, $113?

someone may have told you it was supposed to be $95, or maybe you got some kind of credit the first month, but for all the things you list it's more than $95.

I have two Optimus M for me and my wife. With the family plan discount, that's 2 x $45 = $90. We also got the insurance for each handset, so that's adding 2 x $4 each, for $98. Then, we have the MetroBackup because we needed it initially... Now that all the contacts are transferred into Gmail contacts, we can cancel that, but right now we still have it. So, that's another 2 x $1, for $100.

All the stuff adds up. But it's been $100 every month, with no changes.

I think someone just told you something that wasn't true, or you misunderstood, or you added some services at the last minute without realizing it?

==========

Problem with the insurance is you have to pay an $85 deductible. So you are paying $4 per month ($48 per year) + then $85 to buy a refurbished phone, not even new. Back when the phone was $230 (when I bought them in November), that still was an OK deal. But if Metro ever drops it to $149 straight cash (with none of the rebate/Visa gift card crap), I'll cancel the insurance.

And today I'm going in to cancel the Metrobackup.

Found the paperwork. Yes, we are paying $95 a month. They screwed up when we got the phones, but, I told them I will only pay what I signed for.

So far all is good.

It is not a contract you sign, its just a reciept of what changes you made. Avoid the BS and go to a Corporate store!!!! Most dealers and all of Customer Service have no idea what they are talking about, and dealers like to add things to your bill and not take a payment so next month you are paying double.

Lol, don't listen to him. Stay away from Corporate stores, the workers get paid commision and get bonuses for stuff like Unlimited 411 and MetroBackup. I'm a Authorized Dealer, and we have a couple stores, but our stores actually have the cheapest prices in town. Corporate is notorious for adding things without asking, and they over charge everything. At my store you can get an Optimus M for $210 on upgrade.

Here is what most likely happened:

Lines 1&2 - $50 monthly plan discounted to a $45 family plan, $4 phone insurance (MetroGuard), $2 unlimited directory assistance, $1 (MetroBackup)

$45 x 2 = $90
$4 x 2 = $8
$2 x 2 = $4
$1 x 2 = $2
Total: $104

Unfortunately it's the way Metro does business and pressures their authorized dealers to add features without the knowledge of the customer. It's not a difficult solution. Walk into any Metro store and ask them to explain what is feature does, and remove the unnecessary ones. As an authorized dealer, this is the 'standard package' I've grown accustomed to see with customers that buy at other stores, especially at corporate.

Right and wrong. Right because It's not a contract, it's a receipt with their terms and conditions. But wrong because I also work at an authorized dealer and we are more straight-forward, accurate, and honest than the corporate store in our area. They are the ones with the bad rep.

It might just be the area, but I am very straight forward. I will tell a customer whatever they want to know. I love the dealers who do everything they possibly can with a customer. I have worked here for about 8 months and dealers just don't care enough about the customer. The ones around here will sell them the phone then when they come back with a problem, they will send them here. (i.e. the Torino, the volume is not working correctly, but instead of the dealers turning it up they just say its broke go to corporate.)
It's really a shame we don't have dealers like you in this area, it would make all of our jobs easier.
Thank you

Sure we get commission, but so do you. The dealers around here get a percentage of what they make, so they are usually the ones who add the bs things like UDA or MGB. We usually sell the phone for just as much as a dealer, except we bundle price. The reason we bundle price is because the bad dealers used to give crappy chargers out to customers for free or cheap when they bought a phone, and it would ruin the phones and we would have to do a warranty exchange.
Out the door here with no accessory, you are looking at 209 plus tax out the door, with an additional $50 mail in rebate. Hmm, if I did my math correctly, that is the same price you are selling it for......
