Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

I have one last question please:
I hope someone can help me.
I read that in 2.2 there is a taskkill that comes with the rom, the cyanmod 7 there is something about that? no way to kill processes or open programs no longer use with something that will bring the system?

thanks!

You shouldn't use task killers they mess up how Android is meant to work. Android has it's own way of handling RAM efficiently, which is why you shouldn't mess with it

Do you mean Settings>Wireless & Networks>Wi-Fi Settings>Menu>Advanced Settings>Wi-FI Sleep Policy?

In Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks is the 'Use 2G only' box checked?

Don't bother with swap if you don't play games that need more RAM, all it will do is degrade the life of your SD card

That was EXACTLY it!! Thanks. I tried to find that forever but when I hit menu it didn't come up so I figured there wasn't a menu for it.

2G is not checked. Am I supposed to be able to get 3G? I do on my other android phone. with the same APN settings.

add d link on why not to use task killers its good readin :)

If you have an app thats not killing itself you can just hold the return button and it kills it. Works great for me. I think it's a part of the CyanogenMod softeare. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

i have a problem with this...after i installed the KDZ updater and updated my phone , its now stuck at the android screen.it keeps flashing and shining o.0

Hi guys,
I cannot go on internet via 2G or 3G. Wifi works well. I have this problem on swiftdroid 1.5 and 1.6 .I tried setting up APN settings manually (automatically from the provider didn't work) but that didn't make a difference. On Android 1.6 the internet did work but then it was also vodafone locked. My provider is Blyk but it's part of Vodafone NL (netherlands).Anyone some thoughts?
many thanks in advance!:)

i've tried restarting the phone , taking out the battery and its still stuck at the android screen.i tried going to clockwork mod recovery but it gives me a blank screen.any help?

ok nvm i used clockwork mod to recover back to android 2.2.1 . so how do i install android 2.3? do i still need to use the KDZ updater or ...?

Follow the instructions on the first page. Just put swiftdroid 1.6 file on your sd card. Go in recovery and choose Update from zip :)
[ For SwiftDroid v1.6 you need to flash it via recovery. First backup your phone using recovery, then download this file and copy it to your SD Card. Then in recovery go to install zip from sdcard>choose zip from sdcard then find the 'update1.6-cm-7.0.0-RC2-GT540-MUR4IK-signed.zip' file and flash it. You should now have SwiftDroid v1.6 Check the changelog for what's new ]
