Eris to v2.x, when?

Yeah I will be happy us long as my Eris gets the 2.1 update. Well I would be happy if my phone was a little faster, but I am satisfied with it anyways.

right, which is unethical....no way around it, sorry....people that do this are why we have to pay so much per month, this a small part of the reason insurance in general whether it my home, auto, phone, life, etc, is so high, because of fraud.

I would hope the new update addresses the lousy blue tooth. I have a Plantronics Explorer thats about 4 months old, and the Eris won't recognize it... The Eris blue tooth wont even let me use blue tooth to transfer files between my computer and the phone, or between other black berries with blue tooth.

ill bet our trackball does have multi lights.

if it did i would think they'd have already used it for some purpose. i would love that, too, but i doubt it. then again, not knowing anything about LEDs, aren't they all technically multi-colored? can't you just change the amount of current going to them or something and get them to change colors?

I was shocked that it actually wasn't multicolored. It seems like such a little feature they could have added with ease and made people happy.

Absolution: An absolving, or setting free from guilt, sin, or penalty; forgiveness of an offense; An acquittal, or sentence of a judge declaring an accused ...

I'm pleased that was addressed, and doubly pleased that it was done by someone else. Never let it be said that this forum is limited to learning about our phones.

I hope the author will... absolve the editor of any misdeed of pedantry.

PS, super psyched about the next update! I bought an extra thick lead chest in preparation.

Matt.

Im notas "Plugged-In" as he majority of you all likely are, therefore I would be very pleased if someone wouldn't mind filling me in on some problems and whether or not they might be fixed in 2.0/2.1.

Firstly Is the lag when typing sometimes on a forum such as this or even when recieving a message/email.

Another is the space bar positioning where I find myself accidentally pressing the "." Button on lieu of the space button.

Also, the lag when dealing with any phone call related tasks. (i.e. making a phone call and accidentally tapping the wrong button and being stuck for 1-2 seconds with that call.)

A built in auto task killer for apps you arent using. (like the one on "Task Panel" - which i love by the way.

Perhaps a passcode on the sms/mms messages? Also a split 160+ characters option would be nice (like the one in Handcent) since VZ pockets my $250.00+ a month and refuses to make small adaptations such as this, which most other carriers have shown initiative for.

A blinking service status (red and green) like on some blackberries too would be a great plus.

I know i can achieve some things here with apps, but they likely just waste memory and dont integrate quite as well as factory features. Also, i have OCD when it comes to clutterey after-market stuff so i would prefer sick interation :)

so anyone in "The Know" about any of this?

Thanks again.

P.S. overall, I LOVE my phone and would never trade for an iPhone.. especially with their terrible coverage (which by the way their commercials now a days brag on their "map" of coverage but they NEVER say it's 3G coverage, watch for that next time).

**RANT TERMINATED** :P

The way I see it, we bought the phone with 1.5 and we had the chance to see all of the features of that OS. Nothing more was promised unless someone in the store lied to you. If you wanted 2.0, you should have gotten the Moto Droid or waited for a newer phone. I'll just be thankful to get any added features.

Short answer: no.

Color is determined by the type of semiconductor material used.

I was able to get my Eris for $9.99 from Amazon with a $40/month voice plan and $30/month data plan. Add in the 20% discount on my voice and data plan with my employer and I will be enjoying the Eris for roughly $60/month. :) I don't have it, yet, though. It's on the way and I am VERY excited for it to arrive.

I believe that this is all strategic move by Verizon. How can they offer the Droid Eris for $99 with the same features as the Droid for $199. It would have killed sales. They have a plan when to offer the update. Once they see the sales of the Droid Eris drop, and the Droid sales get stable, then they will offer the update. That is why they say the first quarter. It all depends on how sales go.

I bought the Droid Eris knowing that it is capable of getting Android 2.1. I did not like the design of the Droid. Really hope that Verizon continues on with this strategy and updates the Droid Eris to Android 2.1.

I took a chance and I hope I did not get burned. Believe me if I would have known that Google was releasing the Nexus One so soon, I would have never bought the Droid Eris.

Got the same update earlier... I think it's just a bug fix, nothing as major as 2.0 etc. Still we wait.
