I want to restore a nandroid backup of Apex 1.4.1 and I'm on rooted GB right now. Am I safe to use d2 bootstrapped and just restore the backup, or do I need to sbf and then root and then restore my back up?

GB is an advanced rom, (i.e. pain in the butt to go back to stock) and not for newbies IMO.
SBF, (format/clear cache if it bootloops), activate, root, install recovery, reload recovery backup... not something I want to do for every rom I try. I've encountered boot-loops when sbf'ing back.
